power turtleneck

While Monday is historically the roughest day of the week, Thursday is most often my "LET'S DO THIS" day... the day I put on my big girl pants, & finally  put my head down to tackle the millions of items on my to do list so that I can go into Friday with a clear mind (eyes on Happy Hour amiright!?!?)

This outfit is a sneak peek of my upcoming Teacher Capsule Wardrobe. I previously did one (did you see it? If not, catch up here) & I'm excited to do it again now that I live in a new climate, having moved from Nashville, TN to Denver, CO this past Summer. My working wardrobe at the moment is actually pretty pants heavy (remember when I lamented about finding a decent pair of work pants here... my, how times have changed!), & I also count on flexible layers that allow me to adapt to the fact that I often go to work in freezing temps, & come home in warm afternoons.

I wanted to show off this outfit first because I adore this turtleneck (2/3 of the outfits I have posted since my blogging break have featured it for heaven's sake! See how I wore it for an everyday outfit here) & these pants are the BOMB! I often gravitate towards cropped pants because I'm vertically challenged & I don't have time to be messing with getting things hemmed. And I love how flattering these pants are - the perfect amount of stretch to have a slim fit that holds it shape for many wears.

Finally - the details. These shoes have a low heel (Noah somehow made them look so tall!), so they are great to wear when I know I'm going to be staying close to my desk - a rare day, but also a rare treat to bust out some of my favorite heels. And this clutch is the perfect piece to pop into my work bag & pull out if I have events after work, or want to feel fancy & meet Tyler out for drinks.

I can't wait to show you the rest of my Teacher Capsule Wardrobe outfits. What are your biggest struggles when finding work wear or styling outfits for the work place?

My work day look is also fueled by coffee & snacks #teacherlife. I recently discovered Barnana snacks - dried banana plus other yummy flavors like coconut, apple, chocolate & my favorite - dipped in peanut butter! True Story - I was fighting eating my lunch at 9:45 yesterday morning & was super thankful to find a pouch of Barnana in my work bag - saved the day & my teacher dignity!

The Barnana story is one you have to read - their mission to end food waste is so inspiring. Barnana is now available in Starbucks - the perfect pick-me-up combo - check & see if you can find them in your area here.
