ahoy matey

Spring is hands down the most jam-packed season of my life & while that is one of the reasons why I love this time of year, it certainly comes with its own fashion conundrums. As I scurry from one event to the next, one of my most important accessories is a roomy tote, that doesn't sacrifice on function or style.

My search to fill my life with fewer, better things has led me to many new brands that are doing amazing things for the fashion industry & the way we look at the impact of always wanting more. I am continually impressed at the innovators that find solutions where other people only see problems, and today I am excited to introduce you to a brand that has been around for many years, but has finally solved my Spring tote bag woes & in the process teaching me a little more about the face of conscious consumerism.

Sea Bags designs are made in the USA from up-cycled sails (collected directly from the sailing community & boaters themselves!). I love the chic nautical inspired prints & colors! I was pleasantly shocked when I read that in the last 15 years Sea Bags has saved over 500 tons of materials ending up in landfills - read more about their intentional bag making process here

Make sure to scroll down for a giveaway to win your own Sea Bag!

dress: white dress via Nordstrom (under $100 & available in a gorgeous coral color too!)

shoes: lace-up wedges c/o Indigo Rd.

necklace: dainty necklace c/o Freshie & Zero (a fabulous local Nashville jewerly brand!)

bag: lobster print tote c/o Sea Bags

Not only are the sails that Sea Bags uses for their creations incredibly durable, but they have so much character! Their collection of vintage bags are so eye catching, I love how they save the original insignia and designs of the sails, from their previous life on a sailboat! And they have seriously perfected the Beach Bag with their Ogunquit tote!

The bag I chose is their popular lobster tote that has been remixed in fresh lime green for Spring. Like all of their classic totes, mine is made with hard-wearing recycled sails & hand-spliced hemp rope handles (It is so cool how the rope handles go along the side & under the bottom for the ultimate support of your stuff!).

keep it simple

Today's post sponsored by XFINITY, but all opinions are my own. Please see below for additional disclosure.

I have been partnering with XFINITY to review their services & make the best decision about internet/cable providers for our family - with Google Fiber coming to Nashville we wanted to make sure that we had all the services we needed with our current provider. You can check out my previous posts about XFINITY's massive On Demand Library here & your ability to watch multiple shows on multiple devices here.Today is my final post & I have to say that I have honestly learned so much about the services that were already coming with our contract, but that I had no idea existed & certainly wasn't using!

Today is all about the XFINITY Share app - again, a feature that I had no clue was even available, but have been having so much fun trying out! XFINITY is the only provider with the Share app, allowing you to share all of your moments with family members & friends. This makes me so excited to be able to share holidays with our families on opposites sides of the county (seriously, we have family on both coasts!) & send files that are typically too big to share! Unfortunately, Google Fiber doesn’t give you the availability to send live streams & photos to your friends through their TV or mobile devices (compare Google Fiber & XFINITY here)!

XFINITY’s Share app is an awesome feature available through their systems, letting you share & receive live streams of video through your TV so you don’t miss a minute of the action. Want to share photos? The Share app can do that too. Photos are stored & accessed through the X1 Photos app, so all your memories are in one handy place.

The Share app is a free download available for iPhone & Android devices. Keeping it simple is the name of my game & I'm thankful that XFINITY helps me stay connect with my family & friends in new ways, right on my phone!

Fit tip, it does not fit snug at the waist. I got the XS and it is perfectly oversized & flowy.

Also keeping it simple is this outfit! I told you I loved this Old Navy peplum top too much to just get one & I'm not even a little bit sorry about it! I featured the other peplum cami I purchased in this outfit (it was so perfect during our visit to Asheville)!

Blue + white + cognac accessories with simple silver jewelry (from Nashville brand Freshie & Zero) - yea, that feels right!

Life is about choices – you choose what you want to wear, what you want to eat, what you’re going to do this weekend…don’t you want to be able to choose from the most options on TV?
