investment piece: tweed jacket

If you have been following along for any amount of time, you know that I am on a hunt for THE perfect tweed coat - tailored, preferably black & white, timeless, and versatile.
Unfortunately, at this point in my life a classic Chanel coat is simply out of the question... so I have been stalking every other tweed jacket that lives on the internets.
{ via People StyleWatch November 2011 Issue }

I stumbled upon the tweed jacket offerings at Zara and had to physically close my wide open mouth. Check out these options: here, here, here (studs!), here, here, here (love the piping), here, and here (those shoulders!). Now I have the challenge of choosing just one (I am a budget girl!)

Of course, I am still head over heals with the Spring J.Crew tweed jacket, which I swooned when I saw it on sale here (UPDATE: looks like it sold out... Nooooo)
Looks like this J.Crew jacket is now offered... pretty amazing!

Should I stick by my first dream of a classic black & white tweed, or branch out for a studded, pastel, or embellished option! Too many options are not good for me, HELP!
What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

buzzing neon

Wow, so I actually got dressed (out of my black maxi dress) twice last weekend!
I found this jean jacket buried in my closet during my preparation to move this upcoming weekend.
This little gem has been with me since high school, and I am happy to report that both of us are more popular this time around!
This dress + jacket + wedge combo was perfect for a day at the vineyards with my girlfriends. A dress to stay warm in the heat of the day, a jacket for when the sun goes down, and wedges so that I can walk on the grass even after a couple glasses of vino!
And yes, Tennessee has a vineyard! ha

Yesterday I was talking about neutrals, and today I am thinking about neons... looking to upgrade my neutrals with a little neon action this summer!
{ Whether you want to rock head to toe neon, or add just a pinch, there are many options in stores now }

What are you looking forward to wearing come summer?

trends that make you go hmm... summer neutrals

I am personally a huge fan of Summer Neutrals (and even neutrals for Spring too!). When it gets hot, one of my favorite ways to chill out is with a subdued color palette. Summer neutrals are perfect for music festivals, weddings (just NOT white!), grilling out with friends, or relaxing pool/beach-side.

I found this "old school" pin that I tore out of InStyle last summer, and also rounded-up some of my favorite picks currently in stores (oh how I wish the internet was my closet!)

White, tan, blush, cream... so refreshing in the warmer months!
Dress your neutrals up with metallics, or rock them out with neons!
See all of my summer neutral picks (and more!) here...
Have you heard of Currently Obsessed? I just started a collection, and I hope you will "stalk" my Obsession board (again, if only the internets were my closet)!
I will try to keep my collection current with mostly affordable, chic, pieces with a few lust worthy save-your-pennies items thrown in there too!

the big D

My girlfriends and I were just discussing this past weekend how much fun it is "growing up" together... We survived college, deciding what to wear to theme parties, planning our year around Spring Break in Mexico, and stir-fry + champagne for dinner. Now we get to enjoy seeing each other settle into jobs that we love, meet the man of our dreams, plan weddings, and meet up for drinks and dancing over fabulous Bachelorette party weekends... I love my girls!

I am so blessed to have wonderful, caring, FUN, beautiful (inside and out) friends from all stages of my life, and I look forward to each new chapter of my journey with these ladies!
