investment piece: tweed jacket

If you have been following along for any amount of time, you know that I am on a hunt for THE perfect tweed coat - tailored, preferably black & white, timeless, and versatile.
Unfortunately, at this point in my life a classic Chanel coat is simply out of the question... so I have been stalking every other tweed jacket that lives on the internets.
{ via People StyleWatch November 2011 Issue }

I stumbled upon the tweed jacket offerings at Zara and had to physically close my wide open mouth. Check out these options: here, here, here (studs!), here, here, here (love the piping), here, and here (those shoulders!). Now I have the challenge of choosing just one (I am a budget girl!)

Of course, I am still head over heals with the Spring J.Crew tweed jacket, which I swooned when I saw it on sale here (UPDATE: looks like it sold out... Nooooo)
Looks like this J.Crew jacket is now offered... pretty amazing!

Should I stick by my first dream of a classic black & white tweed, or branch out for a studded, pastel, or embellished option! Too many options are not good for me, HELP!
What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

  2. Thanks for the encouragement. I always try to calculate the cost per wear... which I am sure would be low for a tweed jacket!

  5. I tore this exact page out of my People Stylewatch.  I found a tweed very Chanel-esque jacket in Sears (of all places!) on the sale rack for like $15.  Score!!  You sometimes just never know where you are going to make a great find.

  6. I vote classic black and white! Good staple piecel, then go for the colored one. :)

  7. LOVE the tweed! I think you can do any... tweed in general is a classic and timeless piece. So maybe you can start with some less expensive to fill the need until you find the perfect black and white one... Or maybe that's just my shopping problem rationalizing buying multiples :) LOVE the blog!

  9. Hey, there! I just wanted to let you know I'm giving you a Liebster Blog award today on my blog...congrats! :)
    Also, I would absolutely go with one of the studded jackets..adds just the right amount of "tough" to your tweed!
    Happy Thursday!
