purse: Michael Kors (available in 8 gorgeous colors!)

(enter to win a giveaway for your own designer pair from Sunglasses Shop using the widget below)

watch: Michael Kors (currently 50% off!)

I wore this outfit to the Southern Blog Society (Now with national membership spots available at The Blog Societies) meet-up in Nashville last weekend & seriously can't get enough of these pieces! Remember this striped top from this jeans look last week? And stay tuned for this skirt to get remixed with something a little edgier next week!

Tweed is such an IT print for Fall & I love that it isn't just for super buttoned up looks anymore! Although the wannabe prepster in me was seriously considering getting this tweed jacket + pencil skirt combo, I'm thrilled to see the tweed print on more casual pieces like these slip on sneakers & color blocked tee
Have you embraced any tweed for Fall?

Back from the honeymoon, but still finding every excuse to continue my island lifestyle!
I love this swimsuit from Figleaves.com - not only are the contrasting ties on this suit so fun, their entire online selection is completely swoon worthy!
Figleaves.com offers 200+ designers of lingerie, swimwear, apparel, sleepwear & more – from popular designers such as Vix & Aguaclara, to private labels and exclusive items from brands like Midnight Grace, Just Peachy, & the eponymous Figleaves label.

I love that the swimwear is offered in bra sized swim separates to ensure a perfect fit for all body types - because we aren't all a straight off the rack sizes! I often found that I need a different size on top than I need on bottom, & with Figleaves, this is all possible!

Cup sizes range from AA-GG, & styles vary from classic one-piece swimsuits, to fashion forward bikinis, to chic tankinis – meaning that Figleaves.com truly has something for every body.

With Summer right around the corner, I know I will be putting this swimsuit to good use! And feel good while doing so!
Be sure to check out their entire selection of swimsuits available this season! Today Figleaves is hooking you up for Summer too! Take 10% off all full priced items with promo code LOVE2014 at checkout (runs until June 15th).

Sunglass Guide

Is anyone else totally flummoxed by those magazine "sunglasses guides" that make you first decide what shape your face is based on celebrities & then gives you a list of overpriced designer glasses... yea, ain't nobody got time for that!

Apparently I have Reese Witherspoon's chin & SJP's five head... but I'm not sure where that leaves me as far as the classic head shapes of heart, oval, square & round go.

So I'm modeling my 5 favorite shades in different frame shapes & colors, & asking you, my unbiased judges, which one looks best on my (squarish-heart?) face.

P.S. as it turns out, sunglass companies are more times than not, too cool to call their frames by some standard shape (cateye, wayfarer, round, aviator, square, etc.) so when possible I tried to pull out the descriptive words from their listings & put them under the stock photos.
shop the sunglasses: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Because I'm seriously lacking metal frames in my collection, I have my eye on these Warby Parker aviators next!

So, whatcha think?
Have you solved the mystery of your face shape & best sunglass frame?

the future is bright

I respect each & every blogger who is having a day of silence in memory of the precious lives lost at Sandy Hook ... I have yet to wrap my mind around this senseless tragedy, & probably never will understand such a horrible act of human on human violence... my best coping mechanism is to keep doing what I do, especially the part of my life that I do just for me - blogging. Some of the topics I post about - shopping, styling holiday outfits, gift guides, etc. - are admittedly a little silly in light of the heavy matters on all our minds these days... but I hope just for a moment, to be a bright spot in someone's day...
As Mr. Obama so beautifully said, let's find the strength to carry on, better the world around us, & make this country worthy of their memory
{ What I Wore: Warby Parker "Jasper" sunnies // Banana Republic sweater // Citizens of Humanity boyfriend jeans // Steve Madden heels }
{ Get the Look }
sunnies {$95, exact pair} + yellow sweater {$49.99} + boyfriend jeans {$69.95} + nude heels {$40}
I have been admiring the brand Warby Parker from afar for a while, but got an up close introduction when their traveling shop/school bus rolled into my neighborhood here in Nashville. If you shop WP online, you order 5 pairs, get to try them on for 5 days at home, and then return any pairs that you don't want to keep (with free shipping each way!)
I took advantage of the rare opportunity to try on all the sunnies in the shop bus, & couldn't leave with taking the "Jasper" pair with me!

With all these fabulous pairs in front of me it was a TOUGH choice, but I loved the updated classic shape & the color I picked up is tortoise but with purple flecks (see the photo of me holding it up to the light below)... so fun!

Quickly added this pair to my daily must haves!
Need another reason to check out Warby Parker (for yourself or for someone on your list), for every pair you purchase, WP gives glasses to someone in need, & is working to train new low-income entrepreneurs (win-win in my book!)

What is your favorite pair!?

** I wasn't paid or perked for this post, I just have mad love for some Warby Parker action!

seeing double

Since the ever fabulous Blair of Atlantic-Pacific is the reason I finally took the plunge & purchased a leopard coat of my own, I found it only fitting to pull together this look inspired by her as my inaugural leopard coat outfit on the blog.
I love when a new piece instantly adds a little needed oomph to go-to looks already in my outfit rotation... and this leopard coat is the epitome of that. I want to add it to allllll of my looks, and so far it has looked great with everything!

Do you have any pieces that instantly pack a punch to any outfit?
Anyone else rocking a leopard coat these days?
