Is anyone else totally flummoxed by those magazine "sunglasses guides" that make you first decide what shape your face is based on celebrities & then gives you a list of overpriced designer glasses... yea, ain't nobody got time for that!
Apparently I have Reese Witherspoon's chin & SJP's five head... but I'm not sure where that leaves me as far as the classic head shapes of heart, oval, square & round go.
So I'm modeling my 5 favorite shades in different frame shapes & colors, & asking you, my unbiased judges, which one looks best on my (squarish-heart?) face.
P.S. as it turns out, sunglass companies are more times than not, too cool to call their frames by some standard shape (cateye, wayfarer, round, aviator, square, etc.) so when possible I tried to pull out the descriptive words from their listings & put them under the stock photos.
Because I'm seriously lacking metal frames in my collection, I have my eye on these Warby Parker aviators next!
So, whatcha think?
Have you solved the mystery of your face shape & best sunglass frame?

ReplyDeleteLove it! I pretty much wear whatever sunglasses are the biggest :)
ReplyDeleteI love the first and last style on you! They're all amazing though!

YOU NEED AVIATORS. Everyone looks hot in aviators. They have to be the RIGHT aviators, but seriously. Everyone. Also, I pick the cat-eye or tortoise. Or... both.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky–a lot of shape and styles look good on you! I find I look best in aviators or Ray-Ban style sunnies. Bigger "glamour" ones doesn't look good on me!
ReplyDeleteWell look at that - I really do learn something new everyday! I don't know if my eyebrows are wonky, but I can't think of a single pair that has ever fully covered them… now I'm going to be looking at everyone's sunglasses differently!

1987!
ReplyDeleteTough choice. They all look nice, but I think the modern cateye look the best on you. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are all so cute! I think I like the third pair best on you. I still haven't figured out my face shape, diamond? circle? heart?

I love the updated classic! Maybe I'm also biased because I want a pair for myself. Haha.

I think they all look fabulous on you! But my least favorite on you are the oversized cateye. For some reason, they make your jaw look real wide. The other frames are much more flattering. My favorite is the updated classic or the 1987 sunnies.
ReplyDeleteMy go-to is always the cateye! Those all look great on you though :) Have you ever heard of Rowley Eyewear (by Cynthia Rowley)? I'm having a giveaway next week - they are fab!

The modern cateye suits you the best!
ReplyDeletethe 1987 sunnies and update classics look best in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI love the trendy tortoise ones!
ReplyDeleteI like the updated classic best on you. Brown looks fantastic against your skin tone, the lens aren't too big and the frames are just the right thickness-to-lenses ratio. That's my pick!
