leopard save

Last week during my Jason Wu fueled shopping trip to Target, I picked up another gem too - leopard print jeans! I have been eyeing the fabulous Current/Elliot leopard skinny jeans spotted on Celebs and Fashion Bloggers alike. But not having $200 to spend on fashion jeans, I was beyond thrilled to find a near identical pair for under $25. Seems like Taylor of Curly in the City shared the same thought bubble - as she just published her smart purchase too... what a savvy girl!

Which one do you prefer?
I wore my fashion steal out recently, but can't wait to wear them more this Spring and Summer
StyleMint tee {Wilshire, sign up}
Target leopard jeans
Charlotte Russe booties {out of stock, similar}
ModCloth necklace {currently out of stock, you have to stalk it!}
Showing my fierce face, and rocker attitude! It is so sexy to save!
Despite the crazy pattern, I think these skinny jeans will be quite versatile for casual and dressy outings now and into warmer months...
Here's how I plan to be working them:

Polyvore dream board: leopard 2 ways

{ Suede flatsPink sweater / Moto jacket / Chain necklace}
{dressy}
{ Pink top / Black blazer / Black pumps (or here) / Statement necklace }

Are you convinced?
Any fab fashion steals lately? Dish, I love a good bargain!

P.P.S. If you are here from the "IT" List, Welcome!
I hope you will stay a second and check out some of my other posts from this week:
- Do you prefer your shoes showing or hiding under your wide/flare leg pants?
- I celebrated Galentine's with my girls (seeing "The Vow") and Valentine's with my man tangoing.  What about you?
- Let's be real, Winter has been here for long enough, but until it warms up, I will be found with my two snuggle buddies
- I'm no expert, but here is how I dress cute for date night in the Winter. Do you have any tips?

Have a great weekend!

work it wednesday: mustard pants

More than I expected, these mustard pants have been in heavy rotation in my wardrobe during the past Fall/Winter months. They play so nice with the neutral basics in my closet (i.e. navy blazer, white silk shell, chambray shirt), and give a pop of color to grey days. I am actually a little sad that these corduroys won't transition into the warmer months, but have my eye on a pair mustard colored denim to keep the love affair strong.

I am envisioning pairing mustard jeans with lady-like silk blouses, and blush/neutral accents. I created this dream Polyvore board to display what is dancing around in my head:

Are you a fan of mustard for the lower half?
Dreaming of other colored denim hues?
What ever you dream of, work it girls!

work it wednesday: red jeggings

Gap Jeggings
Moto-Jacket (old) {similar}
Heels Forever21
Tank Ted Baker
Necklaces: Forever21 {similar}, DIY

I cannot get over how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new colored denim. It is such a breeze to transform these colored jeggings from weekend wear to date night and everywhere in between.

I definitely have been working these pants - but maybe I need to step out of my red + white + gray comfort zone. I just don't know what other colors to wear it with. Red + Yellow = McDonald's, Red + Green = Christmas, Red + Purple = royalty, Red + Brown = gross.
I am thinking that Red + Pink, Red + Camel, Red + Blue or Red + Red
might be interesting combos to explore too.

{preppy sweater, girlie rocker, weekend casual}

What do you think?
Have you been working some colored denim lately?

work it wednesday: cargo pants

Happy Hump Day! I had so much fun checking out all of the Work it Wednesday posts last time, that I wanted to participate again!
This Fall/Winter (I don't know if Winter ever really came to Nashville), my J.Crew skinny cargo pants have been getting quite the workout. They are easy enough to throw on with one of my StyleMint tee's for a casual day time look, but can also transition to a dressed up night look with the addition of strategically placed faux fur. AND, I picked these babies up on the J.Crew clearance rack at the end of the summer, so I am pretty sure their cost/wear is somewhere around 5¢ by now! Loves it!

What are you working this winter?

work it wednesday: chambray

Have you noticed? I am living in my chambray shirt these days. It really is my most versatile piece in my closet during this indecisive Nashville "winter" weather (yesterday morning it was 65 ˚F, and last night it was 27 ˚F... just as an example)
Seen over the past couple of weeks, my chambray shirt in action:
Chambray + Jeggings
Chambray + White Jeans
Chambray + Maxi Dress
As 2012 is the year of the better and simpler me, I really am enjoying remixing my own closet. Following my new favorite mantra, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" I have managed to not deviate from my regular shopping budget since starting this blog 3 months ago. I appreciate the idea of having a small number of quality pieces that can work in a innumerable ways to carry a woman throughout many years and seasons.

That is why I was thrilled to find Jill's series {on her Good Life (for less) blog} about making a piece work multiple ways, and sharing the remixes on Work it Wednesday.

This is my first time to participate, but I am going to start with my favorite Chambray Shirt. Have you discovered the magic of the chambray shirt? I am so hooked, I actually purchased a new denim button down - so you are going to be seeing a lot more of denim toppers around this little part of the internet! I look forward to checking out the rest of the Work it Wednesday posts... join me here.
Happy Hump Day
