fit to be tied

{ What I Wore: J.Crew ikat button down + dress // Nisolo tote // Michael Kors watch (similar for under $20) // Target sandals }

Two separate people pulled the "you look tired" line yesterday at work.
I get it. The bags under my eyes are making me look like a zombie.
So I am just going to say this before I tuck myself into bed:
When I am sleep deprived (thank you Scout the Pug) my ability to get dressed goes on autopilot.
So knotting my collection of button downs + tiny wedges is my current outfit equation.
It also helps that these were already on the floor from the day before.

What is your current outfit equation?
Anyone else obsessed with knotting everything?

a May of outfits

May was a good month. I felt like I blinked & it was over, but I think that is just a side effect of having so much fun!
It was a month of Wedding planning, polka dots, full skirts, rainy weather & new ventures

Some of my favorite May moments/posts:
Participating in the "White Tee Challenge"
This Madewell inspired outfit might be my personal fav to date!
The 2nd installment of the new "Curated Closet" series
Reading all of your suggestions on how to style a tulle skirt
Dishing on my granny slip details

How was your May?
Seriously, how it is already June?? And we're almost 1/2 through 2013... mind blown!!

quality time in the kitchen

Summer-time calls for mornings spent at the Farmer's market, afternoons at the pool & evenings gathered around a bonfire with friends - leaving little time to spend in the kitchen! Plus, I always get so hot while cooking, so I like tricks that get me in, out & fed with as little time/effort spent as possible!

By stocking up on Summer essentials at Kroger I not only get all of my shopping list crossed off in one stop (saving time!), but I also get it all for less (saving money!)

When I find free time during the week, I like to prep a few items that will be tasty dinners over the days to come.

Having already cooked meal "bases" makes my dinner making motivation that much easier.
Things like risotto, quinoa, & plain pasta can quickly be transformed into full meals & are easy on my grad student budget.
Because let's be honest, I would rather save my money for clothes!!
shrimp & risotto - on the menu for this week! {via}
Greek pasta salad. A go to in our house, it gets better every day, but we usually eat it in the first 1-2 days! {via}
Feta + arugula quinoa. Delicious warm or cold! {via}
Shopping at Kroger means more time & money to spend enjoying the Summer!
Save time & money by building your digital Kroger shopping list based on your Summer menu (& take it with you using the Kroger mobile app!). And earn 2x Fuel Points to make your savings go further!

This week at Kroger save an additional $5 when you spend $25 on any paper, laundry, household cleaning, hair or oral care products!

What Summer meals make your life easier??

I am always looking for new, simple recipes!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Sunday Shopping: Kate Spade Saturday

Sure, we all know Kate Spade. That chic Uptown "lady who lunches" & always has a cheeky come-back. But have you met her little sister? Kate Spade Saturday is the new girl on the block & boy does she have everybody talking!

I think the KS Saturday girl is well-read, loves to sew, has a knack for DIY & is always up for a new adventure in her own back yard.
Brooklyn flea market anyone!?

The new line is a whole "life-style" brand - everything you need for adding some quirky flare to your closet, home & travels!

I love how the clothing almost has an "I sewed this myself" aesthetic...
hey, I'm not above claiming that I did!
1 (you must check out the back on this dress!) // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 (this bag is just begging for a weekend away!) // 6 // 7 (meow!) // 8 // 9 // 10 // 11 // 12 (a cross body bag that is also a clutch & a belt!)
Have you introduced yourself to KS Saturday yet?
Which piece (or 10) has caught your eye??
