striped dress {$69.99} + Madewell scarf {$18.50} + belt {$12.99} + leopard shoes {a splurge but so cute!}
In college, I would say that my style was definitely "J.Crew". Preppy, classic, lots of pink + green.
I don't know if style blogging, growing up, or living in Nashville is the reason, but recently I have noticed that my style is trending toward being more "Madewell". Mixed prints, masculine + feminine pairings, & "global" accents.
So am I now "uptown"? Or was I already "downtown" & now I'm "midtown"?!
Well whatever it is, I better figure it out before I head to NYC next month (!!!!!)
That's RIGHT!
My sister & I are headed to New York City to go wedding dress shopping in June!
Before this, I have only been to the Big Apple for a few hours during a layover, so I am looking to you fashionably well traveled ladies to tell me everything that we need to do & see over the long weekend (June 21-24).
I am also thinking that I might need to save some time for a blogger happy hour while there,
so if you are in the area, stay tuned!
Is there a store that is your style aesthetic?
I would love to hear if others share this way of defining their style too!
P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway for a $50 gift card to Lisa Leonard's fabulous shop {here}!!
P.P.S. I am linking up with Style Elixir's Style Sessions today
I love your style! I don't there is any one store that is my style aesthetic, because my style changes so much! I guess I would be Winners - a bit of everything!
ReplyDeleteI love the madewell style. I only wish my wallet could actually handle the store haha.
ReplyDeleteNYC isn't too far from me! Can't wait to hear more about the possible meet up!
I love the shape of this dress- and you can't go wrong with stripes!
ReplyDeleteNYC?! YAY! Definitely let us NYC gals know if you have time for a meet up–either way, that must be SO exciting! Also, I'm loving this entire look–I've always wanted to wear scarves like this, but I was never really sure how to. Saving this for future inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the odds you wear Madewell today lol. I was actually thinking the same thing a few weeks ago. I was more Madewell but have become a little more J Crewish. I actually flip flop back and forth a lot I think. Two of my favorite stores for sure lol. Have fun in NYC. Never been!

ReplyDeleteladies in navy
I think I'm equal parts J. Crew and Madewell. It probably has something to do with the fact that they're very close together at my favorite mall. P.S. Your hair looks super fantastic today!!

What an adorable striped dress! Do you know which stores in the city you'll be looking at for wedding dresses? I went to Kleinfelds and Reem Acra but ultimately bought my dress in a small store in Jersey.
