Sweet Treat: Provence Bakery

The second stop on my Sweet Treat tour around Nashville is Provence Bakery. This delicious shop is nestled in the center of one of my favorite neighborhoods, Hillsboro Village.

During the warmer months, I pop in for a coconut French soda + a salad sampler. But now that the temps have started to drop, I'm craving their Peppermint Patti specialty coffee & macarons. Don't worry, I've done the leg work for you & tried all the flavors, & while they are each divine in their own right, the chocolate is hands down my favorite… seriously melts in your mouth!

See my first Sweet Treat stop here & be sure to stay tuned for the final installment with Off Broadway Shoes tomorrow.

I thought that this mix of classic silhouettes & patterns was a decent "Nashvillian in Paris" look… thoughts?

These leopard shoes from Off Broadway Shoes are not only insanely stylish, they are crazy comfortable too! My first instict was to go for the basic black pair, but I'm super happy that I branched out & went with the leopard spot calf hair pattern. Still a neutral, but with an added dose of punch!
Still thinking that flats can't be stylish? Then you haven't shopped the crazy good selection available at Off Broadway Shoes! I've pulled my 10 favorites for meeting the sweet spot of style & comfort!
{1} the two piece flat - this is a style that is here to stay! // {2} the ones I have - so comfortable, so chic! // {3} a year round staple // {4} comfy everyday styles don't have to be boring! // {5} no words - total perfection! // {6} go ahead, get the electric blue! // {7} loved the updated look for these espadrilles // {8} adore the sassy bow on this basic ballet flat // {9} can't get enough of these subtle scallops from Tahari! // {10} a perfectly Parisian pair

Shop Freebird Boots + Paige Denim on Zappos!

'Tis the season for gathering together. Check out the looks my blogger friends are wearing to their holiday happenings here.
And just like that the holidays are HERE! This seriously is the most wonderful time of year! The other 11 months out of the year, we run around with our noses in our own lives, but this month, this spectacular time between Thanksgiving & New Years, we open up our homes to friends, exchange thoughtful gifts, send updates in the mail, & hold our loved ones a little closer. Yes please!
Now my friends and I aren't a fancy bunch, so when I'm thinking about our holiday gift exchange, I'm looking to my favorite jeans + boots with a little glam touch (thank you easy & warm faux fur snood of my dreams!)

I love that I can not only pick up everything I need to keep my holiday dressing game on point, but also scoop up gifts for everyone on my list from Zappos! (Check out their amazing gift guide here!)

That's right people. Zappos is much more than just shoes! This customer service centric company sells shoes, clothing, accessories & MORE!

And I cannot get over the fast & free shipping with a free 365 day return policy! (Who pays for shipping these days… get it free from Zappos!)
And yes, still living in these Paige denim skinnies & bananas boots from Freebird.

These jeans are all about the details - the thick, holds their shape denim, perfectly subdued pocket embellishments, & the fit. Oh the fit!

From Paige: "We are completely obsessed with designing pieces you'll live in-jeans that go from morning to moonlight; the perfect pair that works like a charm, always; pieces to help you stand tall in what you're wearing, and take you exactly where you want to go."
Amen!

And I love wearing these shoes out & about, if only for the conversations that they start. EVERYONE asks about these boots. And I smile from ear to ear telling the tale each & every time - Freebird by Steven boots are handcrafted from start to finish, using a traditional "Goodyear construction", in which stacks of leather are hammered together & carefully stitched to create a virtually indestructible sole. This technique has been used to create the highest quality boots for centuries!

I've been wearing them again and again for weeks, really putting them to the test, & they are just getting more gorgeous by the day!
What pieces in your closet are getting you through the holidays?

yearly PSA

Apparently I am making this my yearly announcement (the last announcement came in January 2013) - Ladies, your maxi dresses/skirts work just as fabulously for Winter as they do for Summer. Layer up the jackets, scarfs, & hide an extra layer of tights underneath… the maxi truly is a year-round staple!

I could live in this dress (& have before) so my arm definitely does NOT have to be twisted to leave it hanging in my closet even in cooler months (thank you polar plunge!)

What Summer look are you surprised to find works equally well during the Fall/Winter months?

Bloggers Who Budget: Mad For Plaid

{ What I Wore: Le Tote sweater // H&M hat (similar, for under $20!) // scarf handmade by my sister, see other options below // Paige denim and Freebird boots ℅ Zappos }

Super excited about our first Bloggers Who Budget link up post! If you are mad for plaid & have a look featuring a plaid item under $75 please link up below (all rules & guidelines, as well as a sweet button to share, at the bottom of today's post

This month's theme is particularly exciting, as I am OBSESSED with plaid. Ways I have worn plaid in the past: lady like with tulle (second favorite outfit ever!), with a midi-skirt, tied around the waist, tucked and belted, layered under another button down, with a floral skirt, as a skirt, knotted, under a fur vest, peeking out of a sweater, weekend casual paired with a utility vest… I'm starting to feel like the Bubba Gump of plaid. But seriously, this is one versatile pattern that needs to make its way into your closet.

I have also been pinning plaid up a storm to inspire your Fall/Winter outfits, check out all the looks on my Fall Pinterest Board.

And, shop all my favorite plaid pieces for under $100 below!

I wore this outfit to a concert (Vance Joy) with the husband & it just worked.
A ocelot print wristlet for easy holding of the essentials. A slightly mod dress (with pockets!). And a bit of {faux} leather edge. Yes please!
What have you worn lately that just worked for no special reason in particular?

Can you believe all these booties are Old Navy? I still love the pair I picked up a few years ago!
