stepping out

turtleneck: J.Crew Factory (on sale for under $20!)

shoes: gold cap toe flats ℅ Rockport Shoes

I don't know how many days I was supposed to wait before showing a repeat wear on the blog, but I just couldn't wait to pull this skirt out again! I previously wore it during our Bloggers Who Budget collaboration with a blazer and strappy heels, but I wanted to show off how fun this skirt could be for those of us who live in flats.

The midi length can be tough to pull off with flats, as anytime you cut off your body at a wider part (i.e. your calves, they are the widest part of your lower leg), you run the risk of creating an unflattering silhouette. Many people offset this widening effect with elongating heels, but I think that these pointy toe flats do a great job of slimming the line of the look too.

These flats are recent from Rockport, but for some reason I can't find them online yet. However, I keep an eye out & let you know when I find them. Sometime today I am going to have to make Snapchat showing off how much padding is inside these flats - seriously like walking on a cloud! Find me on Snapchat by searching "jesshereandnow" in the add by username screen.

on the floor (& a giveaway)

The "Winter Maxi Skirt" is a rare bird that I have been planning to catch ever since seeing its fierceness on Sydney (of The Daybook fame, le duh)... & I have finally made it mine
{ What I Wore: J.Crew turtleneck, leopard belt, snood & maxi skirt // Seams to Be (Etsy Shop) hat {won in a giveaway} // Charlotte Russe booties // Michael Kors Watch }
{ Get the Look }
knit beanie {$28.00, exact one!} + handmade snood {$48, from Etsy} + turtleneck sweater {$29.99, exact one} + leopard belt  {$49.50, exact one, now 30% off} + maxi skirt {$29.99} + booties {buy one, get one for $15.50 from Charlotte Russe}

Can we talk about the thick tights I am hiding under this swath of fabric... heavenly warmth!
While this outfit proves to me that maxi skirts do indeed work for Winter (yay extra layers!), it also reminds me that given my crazy shed-a-licious tan dog, I should never leave the house wearing un-lint rolled black tops ever again. (sorrrrry guys!)

Because I had so much fun the first time (& to apologize for my Doug-fur covered sweater) I am over on Because Shanna Said So giving away another $50 J.Crew giftcard! Woot!

You can enter here or there, just enter!

Haven't gotten your fill of giveaway goodies yet!?
Check out the SUPER FAB group giveaway I am participating in here {with a PRIZE package of $200+!!!}

P.S. Today I am linking up with Long Distance Loving's Friday Fancies. See more outfit crushes { here }

icing

{ What I Wore: J.Crew turtleneck sweater // Ann Taylor skirt // Gianni Bini T-strap heels // Monogram necklace c/o MyNameNecklace.com // boutique belt }

{ Get the Look }

turtleneck {$29.50} + polka dot skirt {splurge $59.50 // save $19.80} + t-strap heels {$35.00, from the Olsen twins' brand for JC Penney} + red belt {$28.00} + monogram necklace {$39.95, exact one!}

I usually am a "golden" girl, but during the holiday season I love pulling out my silver jewelry - the icing on my "holiday party look" cake.
My new monogram name necklace is the perfect classic addition to my growing jewelry collection... I keep reaching for it to not only add a personal touch to my daily outfits, but to also add pizzaz to my holiday party looks... who doesn't love a little personal icing (to give or get)!?

pop of pink

I am a self proclaimed "girlie girl", but sadly I think the only pink item I currently own is this J.Crew beanie (or toque if you prefer!)
{I also believe it was my first J.Crew purchase maybe 10 years ago!}
J.Crew turtleneck, Genetic Denim Jeans, Pink J.Crew beanie
Being that February is the self-proclaimed month of love, it isn't too hard to spot some fabulous girlie pink items around these days. In honor of the month of Valentines' and to earn my girlie girl status, I think these pale pink jeans might have just jumped to the very top of my {wish list}.
What are you favorite items?
Wearing any more pink now that it is February?
Or have you always been a pink lady?

{pale pink jeans / pink espradilles / pink blouse / pink watch / hot pink scarf /
funky pink chain / pink girlie pleated skirt / chic pink clutch}

keep it classy pink ladies
xx
