stumps: awkward or awesome?

Coat - J.Crew {similar, on sale!}
Sweater - Banana Republic {similar}
Jeans - Citizens of Humanity {similar}
Heels - Jessica Simpson {similar}
Snood - Homemade {similar, lots on etsy}
I am so thrilled that jeans can be found in every shape and color these days, and have jumped on board with high-waisted, flare, skinny, red, blue, and green varieties (to name a few).
When wearing my flare leg/bellbottom denim I am always vigilant to avoid the stump leg look and sport shoes that show from beneath the bottoms.
But last week I saw Sydney rocking the phantom foot look, and now I don't know what to think!
So, what do you think? In spirit of Awkward&Awesome, which camp does this fall into? Should your shoes show from under your jeans, or do you think the column of jeans is leg-lengthening?
 Personally, I usually just want to show off my cute shoes!
See - told you I'm wearing {cute} shoes!

{Awkward}
- Currently having two pimples on either side of my forehead that resemble Devil horns... just perfect!
- Doug had a stomach issue last weekend... I will spare you the details... but it. was. horrid.
- My lips are shedding their skin... like snakes, but less cool and more ow!
- Eating ramen noodles for the rest of the month so I can afford the new Spring fashions (but seriously)

{Awesome}
- Got my Winter fix, Nashville had snow flurries last weekend... some even stuck around for a few hours!
- Mint jeans... I finally got a pair (two actually, but sending one back),
I'll fill you in on details and share photos soon
- Having my boyfriend make me my own beer... a Dunkelwizen, that is perfectly banana-y and clove-y! DE-Lish!

What's your awkward and awesome-ness? Spill it!
xx

leopard save

Last week during my Jason Wu fueled shopping trip to Target, I picked up another gem too - leopard print jeans! I have been eyeing the fabulous Current/Elliot leopard skinny jeans spotted on Celebs and Fashion Bloggers alike. But not having $200 to spend on fashion jeans, I was beyond thrilled to find a near identical pair for under $25. Seems like Taylor of Curly in the City shared the same thought bubble - as she just published her smart purchase too... what a savvy girl!

{ Real / Steal }
Which one do you prefer?
I wore my fashion steal out recently, but can't wait to wear them more this Spring and Summer
StyleMint tee {Wilshire, sign up}
Target leopard jeans
Charlotte Russe booties {out of stock, similar}
ModCloth necklace {currently out of stock, you have to stalk it!}
Showing my fierce face, and rocker attitude! It is so sexy to save!
Despite the crazy pattern, I think these skinny jeans will be quite versatile for casual and dressy outings now and into warmer months...
Here's how I plan to be working them:
leopard 2 ways
Polyvore dream board: leopard 2 ways

{casual}
{ Suede flats / Pink sweater / Moto jacket / Chain necklace}
{dressy}
{ Pink top / Black blazer / Black pumps (or here) / Statement necklace }

Are you convinced?
Any fab fashion steals lately? Dish, I love a good bargain!

P.S. See Jill's Work it Wednesday (she is the creator of this awesome idea) right over here

P.P.S. If you are here from the "IT" List, Welcome!
I hope you will stay a second and check out some of my other posts from this week:
- Do you prefer your shoes showing or hiding under your wide/flare leg pants?
- I celebrated Galentine's with my girls (seeing "The Vow") and Valentine's with my man tangoing.  What about you?
- Let's be real, Winter has been here for long enough, but until it warms up, I will be found with my two snuggle buddies
- I'm no expert, but here is how I dress cute for date night in the Winter. Do you have any tips?

Have a great weekend!

tango my heart

Happy Valentine's Day!
I am a sucker for holidays, and one of these years am going to get around to actually decorating for them (ha)! But seriously,  I would love to be one of those domestic goddesses that makes those cute felt heart banners from Pinterest and has her lady friends over for pink petit fours... baby steps.
This year Tyler and I are celebrating our love on Saturday to miss all the craziness (and enjoy cheaper wine!), and my girlfriends and I celebrated "Gal"-entine's Day last night by getting together for a good cry and Channing Tatum's rock hard abs in "The Vow"
(bee tee dubs, it was good, and so were his abs!)
Dress {similar}, Jacket {similar}, Necklace {similar} - from boutique I used to work for
Heels - Nine West {exact pair}
Clutch - Vintage {similar}
But last weekend, Ty gave me a present by allowing me to drag him to Tango 101 class! Not really knowing what to wear to Tango, I picked out this fun wrap dress and my go-to black pumps to glide across the dance floor in. I figured I would wear heels during any occasion that would call for a Tango, so I my as well just start there. I paired the Tango dress with my boxy jacket that I recently found during my Winter closet purge... I know boxy jackets are on "trend" for Spring (I know cause I told you), but I think you commenters were right when you said that it maybe isn't the most flattering jacket shape...
who cares, I was having too much fun to notice!
xxoo
Whether you are hanging with your dog, girlfriends, or significant other today,
share some love this V-Day!

P.S. I am sending a big thank you out to Jessica over at Flourish for her Ah-Mazing Valentine's Day goodie bag. I opened it early (cause I'm bad like that), but it totally made my blah day so much better when I came home from work to find it, that I couldn't resist! (she is one of those goddesses that I am talking about!)

snuggle weather

Winter came for a weekend here in Nashville, so the boyfriend, pug and I stayed in and caught up on some snuggling, reading, and basketball games.
My cuties curled up on a Friday night
Saturday afternoon, I bundled up and set out for a stroll in my neighborhood to practice photography. It was fun playing around with the camera settings and capturing the quirks of my historic 'hood.
Can you believe that this house...
... has this mailbox?! haha
Sunday was for running errands, chasing puppies around the yard, and watching premium TV shows + the Grammy's (for the beautiful dresses!)

the boyfriend knows the way into my heart... through money cheesy tokens of his affection
My batteries are recharged and ready to go
Bring it on Monday!

lacy details

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have caught onto my exasperation at dressing for date night in sub arctic temps (ok - anything less than 30 ˚F is all FREEZING to me!). Seriously, why don't "sexy" and "warm" go together better?!
Blazer UO (old) {similar, for cheap!}
Jason Wu for Target lace detail tee
Citizen for Humanity high-waisted, flare jeans {similar}
Neon Belt Target {similar}
Shoes - Nine West {exact pair}
I made up my mind that covered up can be cute too, and decided to "cute-ify" some flare jeans with my new Jason Wu for Target tee. Adding my favorite blazer and scarf keeps me warm... and the boyfriend approves, so it's all good!
If I could just carry this fur ball around all night I would definitely be warm!
A pop of neon will do ya!
Favorite way to tie a scarf
Stay warm and cute
xx
