fresh supplies

After 12 years of primary school + 4 years of undergrad + 4 years of graduate work, I've spent most of my life in a classroom, always feeling like a professional student! Now that I am in my 2nd year of teaching, I'm not sure I'll ever leave education.
There are somethings that never leave you from growing up, one of my favorite childhood memories? Back to school shopping! My father would literally skip through the aisles of whatever store we were shopping, singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year" - he loved to tease us that seeing us go back to school was a momentous occasion, but my sister and I know who was the one crying on the first day of school (my dad has a sensitive soul!)

The smell of fresh school supplies still makes me giddy. There is something about a untouched notebook, sharpened pencil set, and straight out of the package eraser!
With 1 month of school already under my belt, it is surprising how quickly everything moves to full steam ahead, but I love the relationships I am starting to form with my 120 7th graders.

Last year stretched me, challenged me, grew me in more ways that I could have ever imagined, and I stuck it out even when the majority of my fellow 1st year teachers quit. As a bit of an indulgence, I thoroughly enjoyed stocking up on super cute school accessories this year - when it's cute, I enjoy using it more!
How cute are these Kate Spade accessories from Kate Spade!? The students already associate me with my gold striped mug, & I've been jotting down so many ideas in this perfectly sized notebook (with "It's what's inside that counts" stamped in gold on the front). I have to travel between classes, so this pencil pouch is the perfect place to keep my pens, lipgloss, and keys during the day!

Thanks to Swoozies for setting me up for a successful school year! Be sure to check them out the next time you need to stock up on supplies, cute tailgating gear or the perfect hostess gift!
