Rent The Runway Recents

Photos by my blogger bestie Katie of Pearls & Twirls

The idea of sitting down to brunch with a room of fabulously dressed bloggers at the Southern Blog Society was scary enough that I turned to the experts for my outfit - Rent The Runway. I have never had a bad experience with this service! And I love that I can have my outfit delivered directly to the hotel I am staying at, when on vacation*. This pastel pleated dress was perfect for brunch, but I also loved this dress for the opening conference!

*I just call to get the best mailing address from the hotel to have my dresses shipped. Then when I know the delivery date, I call the hotel front desk, letting them know when both the package will arrive & when I will be checking in.

If you have any questions about using Rent The Runway, let me know! It seriously is one of my favorite tricks for being well dress without any stress!
I love that this dress looks like matching separates, but it is actually all one dress, with a slightly nude band of fabric in the middle. Very comfortable & super airy, perfect for the humid mess that was Charleston when we visited at the end of June.

best. weekend. ever.

I just got back from Austin, Texas where I had the most epic weekend for my bachelorette party! I am still recovering from our night out on 6th Street & will share all the details of our most perfect weekend soon!

My girls wrapped me up in love, spoiled me with some new frilly things to take on the honeymoon & kept the shots coming all weekend long.

Before heading out to brunch Sunday, I met up with Shanna the beautiful blogger behind Because Shanna Said So. Shanna was one of the first bloggers I connected with, in fact she was the winner of my first ever blog giveaway! We started our blogs around the same time & it has been a joy to be on this blogging journey together. Getting to finally meet her in person was just as I expected it - like 2 friends that have a long shared history, picking up right where we left off. I am so thankful for the friends in my life, the girls that I grew up with, the ladies from college, the ones I have made a life with in Nashville, & the talented women that I've met via blogging. My heart is so full.
How great is the print on this Erin Fetherson dress? I thought it was perfect for a bachelorette weekend & now I wish it was a print so I could hang it in my house!
How was your weekend?

Sunday Shopping: RTR

Wedding season can be oh so fun, but a total drain on the ol' wallet. How have I survived the past two jammed packed seasons of wedding bliss for my friends... on a grad student budget? Three words: Rent. The. Runway.

From the engagement party, stock the bar party, bachelorette party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding, day after wedding brunch, date with the cute guy you met at the wedding... yea, all those events mean so many crises in fashion just waiting to happen!

And I don't know about you but I can't afford to run out & get a new dress for every invite that rolls in. But with Rent the Runway I can pick up a designer dress that no one else will have, starting at $50! #boom
Bridal Shower: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4
Wedding: 5 // 6 // 7 // 8
Bachelorette Bash: 9 // 10 // 11 // 12
What are your wedding season tricks?

rent the glitter

Ok, I was going to wait to post this until tomorrow, the 12th day of glitter, but then a little birdie in my inbox told me that all NYE dress rentals from Rent the Runway are 50% off with code "NYE50"... so if you haven't figured out what you will be wearing to greet 2013, do not fret, there is still time to pick out a gorgeous designer dress, even on your budget! (but this sale only lasts until tonight at midnight, EST)

Sequins & glitz are safe (& super fabulous) NYE fashion choices, but why not try a stunning bright pink ruffled dress, winter white beauty, a green sequin shift, or even a lacy romper for your New Year's kiss moment?
Top Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5
Middle Row: 6 // 7 // 8 // 9 // 10
Bottom Row: 11 // 12 // 13 // 14 // 15
** I couldn't stop at only 12... so I picked out 14 fabulous dresses & a romper **

As before, I have not been paid or perk'd to post about RTR, I just have mad love for this site, and have been a happy customer 5 rentals later. Read about one of my previous dress rental experiences { here }

summer treat: backyard wedding

I am so excited to be joining Ty to his home state of Oregon for one of his long time friend's wedding in August. The affair is an evening ceremony in the groom's backyard... and I have no clue what to wear.

6 weddings in one year mean that shelling out for an expensive wedding guest outfit just isn't an option! After consulting my favorite site for fabulous dress on my budget, Rent the Runway, I have narrowed down the choices to 3: girlie chic, modern hip, and classic sleek. Which one is your favorite?

rented love

I am back from my Bachelorette Party in Dallas, and finally caught up to the rest of the world.
For the special occasion of celebrating with my girlfriends, I fell to my new "old standby", Rent the Runway. What better way to pop champagne and sing "All the Single Ladies" than in a rented dress. But for serious, this could not be any easier.
Pick out a designer dress (from 100s!), place an order (for a fraction of retail, up to 90% off), get a dress (and an extra size just in case) overnighted to wherever you may be, keep it for 4 days, then send it back in the pre-paid mailer. They take care of laundering it, and insurance covers any major damages. For realz
Over my past 2 years of being a member, this is my 5th time renting a dress. I have loved everything I've worn so far, but this dress might be my new favorite. The Sachin + Babi "Petal to the Metal" Dress was perfect for our ladies' night out! I danced worry free all night, and had money in my pocket for shots for the bride-to-be. I love being smart and renting instead of purchasing, but still getting decked out in designer duds!

Thinking fabulous thoughts of the rich and famous!

P.S. I typically hold out for a great coupon (20% off and free shipping!) and rent multiple dresses at once to take advantage of the rent one dress, get the second look for $25 deal... So any of the prices you see on the site are more than what I pay ;)
