the shape of spring: boxy jacket

The 3rd installment in Elle's "Shape of Spring" feature, is the "Boxy Jacket".
{See the previous two: peplums, knife pleats}

This trend was a little more obscure for me than the other two, but upon scoping out this look in trendy internet boutiques, I realized what a wonderful season it is for jackets - of the "boxy" variety or not. Jackets are totally having a moment!
Regardless of whether you want to pull a Man Repeller, or channel your inner 1950s lady, there is a jacket out there for you! I am looking forward to picking up a few fun jackets and pairing them with my classic silk shells and new color pants for Spring!
{Colored Denim / Classic Navy / Girlie Varsity / Lady-like Tweed
Fashion Forward Floral / Date Night Sparkler / Rocker Studs}

What do you think?
Will you be seen rocking a varsity jacket?
Or bring lady back with some tweed?

  1. I'm loving jackets/blazers this season but you won't see me in a boxy jacket. Definitely a no no for petites! I need a jacket with more shape, so I'll be staying away from this one.

  2. Sharon, I agree... boxed &/or cropped doesn't usually do great things for my vertically challenged frame, but I am looking forward to stepping out of my black blazer comfort zone and trying out some sassy spring jackets :) xx

  3. I prefer my jackets to have some shape to them. I do love the floral blazer you posted and the Classic Navy is lovely too!
