Good Morning. Just a little blogging business before getting to today's outfit.
Firstly, over the weekend I ponied up the $10/year to purchase my own domain name... getting crazy!
So please redirect your browsers to myhereandnowlife.com instead of the previous blogspot domain.
Secondly, when updating said domain name, I was doing some maintenance on the widget (Disqus) that manages my comments, and realized that 100+ non-spam comments were sitting in my spam folder... SADNESS! I really do my best to reply to and visit the blog of each commenter, and apologize for missing some of your very sweet comments because I am CLUELESS about most aspects of running this little corner of the internets... I won't let it happen again, and I hope to be better at continually teaching myself more and more about the technical intricacies of blogging... so much to learn!
Phew... oh and all of the comments from the past 6 months have disappeared,
but they "say" they "might" come back... fingers crossed!
UPDATE: I just DOMINATED some Disqus, and found all my old comments. So if anyone else is having similar problems, shoot them my way... I think I might be able to help!

{ What I Wore: thrifted moto-jacket (obsessed with this real leather moto jacket from Zara) // Target jersey skirt // Gianni Bini jelly flats (similar) // J.Crew appliqué floral shirt } |
This skirt is one I regret not getting in every color. Comfortable, wrinkle resistant, soft, flattering, goes with everything... and less than $15! For some reason, Target only has one color on their website right now, but in my local store they carry it in every rainbow color and several patterns... I am trying to talk myself out of going back and snatching up all the others before everyone else figures out this little secret!
What summer staples are you stocking up on now?
Have any perennial favorites that you would like to share with the group?
xx
Jessica
I am loving that jacket and I'm stocking up on stylemint shirts!

I haven't seen that skirt at my Target but I've been trying to stay away. This is so cute though I may have to take a peek. It looks soooo comfy & perfect for summer (and even for the Fall when it gets colder).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting your own url! Big girl move right there! :o)
I love this skirt!! :)
ReplyDeleteAh! I hate disquis you can make all your comments come back but I forget how. Just google it!

Congrats on your official new domain name! I cannot get enough of stripes now, and absolutely love this outfit. Also, I totally hear you on figuring out Disqus - I do think there are a lot of advantages to using it over the regular Blogger commenting system, but it's not exactly intuitive!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, my wardrobe has just welcomed two of these skirts - grey and navy! So excited to wear them all summer! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon... I can't believe that I "own" part of the internets! hehe
ReplyDeleteI finally got my Disqus to work... it wasn't super hard after some further reading/investigating about my new domain, and overall I have been really happy with the platform
xx
Skirt twins! Love it! I'll be over to see yours soon

Yes, I totally understand... I pop into Target for ONE thing, and come out having spent $100... how do they do it! Good idea keeping this skirt out for fall... you just made me happy even thinking about it!
ReplyDeletexx
Yay, thanks to some crafty Googling... the comments are BACK!
ReplyDeletexx
Thank you dear! YOu should tell my boyfriend that I NEED this skirt in every color.. hehe

Thank you! We have 2 Targets close by, and it is crazy how different their selections can be! Keep your eye out :)

Thank you! I feel so grown up owning my own little piece of the internet! I also had a breakthrough this afternoon, and finally figured out Disqus... I really do prefer it over the basic Blogger comment platform, but you are so right, it can be a little tricky!
ReplyDeletexx
yay! so glad to hear it... can't wait to see how you wear them

I have been thinking about getting my own domain name too...it didn't mess anything up with your past posts did it? I don't even know how all that works! Glad you got your comment problem squared away... precious as always!! ;)

Luckily for me, being as technologically challenged as I am, GoDaddy has a FAQ section dedicated strictly to changing domain names on the Blogger platform, so it was pretty straightforward. There was a slight hiccup changing (merging) my old comments over, but once I figured out the small thing I was doing wrong, everything fell into place. If you ever decide to make the move to a new domain name and have questions, I can share more details of my experience with you! xx
ReplyDeletelove that skirt!! looks so cute and comfortable!!
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is so pretty, I love stripes! And the moto jacket is so cool, looks great with the rest of the outfit :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the striped skirt! I've got a striped skirt myself and pretty much have to be coaxed out of it ;) As for my favourites...I've just discovered Sperry shoes and have got two pairs now - so comfy!
ReplyDeleteLife Etc
Oh sperry's are great summer staples! I have my eye on a pair of metallic ones :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks dear!

Love the skirt! I'm definitely going to stop by my Target to try and snatch one up! And congrats on the new domain! I'm with you on being borderline brain-dead on the technical aspects of blogging - I have my own domain, but that's about as much as I've been able to figure out so far, haha.
ReplyDeleteAh I have that same skirt from Target in the same color.. skirt twins!! You'll be seeing it on my blog soon. Looks fab on you, LOVE that jacket! :)

Congrats on getting your own domain! I have to do the same for my blog one of these days. It seems a lot of bloggers have had that problem with the comments on the DISQUS platform which is why I'm sticking with Blogger.
ReplyDeleteThat striped skirt is so cute! I have a similar one from F21 that I wear often :)
