In things that are weird: 

Last night I had a dream in smell-o-vision. Seriously, I woke up & the smell was still so strong, long after I had forgotten what the dream was even about. It was the smell of the spray that I used to scrunch my hair back in the Summer of the perm... & it took me right back to that Summer. That Summer was special, on a warm camp night in the heart of the Texas Hill County I had my first kiss... & then we danced to Jack Johnson's "Flake".  ah, young love!

Crazy how I can still remember that smell & I am right back as a twitterpated girl, wearing ties as belts, sneaking off to get "cokes" with Wade, during one of my last Summers at Mo Ranch. Oh of the mysteries of the human brain.

In things that are less weird:

This Fringe & Lace circle skirt is not only super flattering (my thighs are an area of self-consciousness for me), but goes easily from tough girl glam to comfy chic weekend wear.

First things First:

Yes I'm still a student. No I do not get Summer break. And I don't want to talk about it anymore either #bitter

I actually love Summer. Well maybe I should say, I love Summer weekends, since I don't really get to go outside during the week.

I pack my Summer weekends to the brim with trips to the dog park, outdoor movies, music festivals, anything associated with water (including but not limited to: pools, lakes, slip-n-slides), patio drinking, flea markets, and road trips.

So I need clothes that change from one activity to the next right there with me.

Layers, not-too fussy, pug-hair proof, & of course look good ;)

We are so fortunate here in Nashville to be surrounded by talented musicians. Last night the boyfriend treated me to a show by The Head & The Heart.... soooo good!

When life gets a little more stressful than usual (AKA right now), it is wonderful to unplug with a night of feel good music, and a cutie patootie date.

patio weather

Around these parts, they say that March weather is in like a lion out like a lamb, and that has certainly been true this year. Last week was storm filled, but this weekend was a nice treat of warm, clear, non-humid days (a rarity indeed)! This is what I call patio weather! In my opinion, eating and drinking is instantly more fun when done in the out of doors, and that is just what I took advantage of this weekend!

Good morning, and TGIF!

Day 2 of my 30X30 Remix Challenge is here. I took Kendi's advice and pre-thought out outfits to create with my 30 items. This was one of the outfits that sounded good in my head, but I wasn't sure how it would look in real life... I think it works! I don't have to dress up for work, but I have always dreamed of working in an office that required me to wear pencil skirts and heels (maybe I watch too much Mad Men!) 

... and this is something I wouldn't mind wearing to that imaginary office!

Happy Hump Day!

Ok - so I am in love with my new camera, but oh boy, he is a tough cookie! My photographer (le boyfriend) and I are working on figuring out Mr. Camera... but in the mean time, things might be a little  off. For example, why are these pictures so grainy!?... it has been overcast lately (haven't seen the sun in days!), but Mr. Camera promises that he is better than some silly little cloud coverage... hmm... back to the owner's manual. I actually am considering buying the Canon EOS Rebel T2i for Dummies, so if you have any tips that were game changers for you and your first DSLR or experiences with Mr. Canon T2i hook me up!

My photographer has decided that the continuous shooting mode is trés fun! I may have to show some of the bloopers that this continuous shooting spree results in!

Remember even if it is the middle of winter, you haven't seen the sun in days, and all you want to do it crawl back under the covers... putting on a girlie blouse & heels and tackling chores on a Saturday isn't a bad option either!
