winter heft

Good Morning!
So... I have been muttering under my breath about that silly Groundhog and his prediction for his more Winter, when Nashville has yet to be touched by Winter. I am seriously torn between wanting my taste of a white winter and lusting after the new Spring clothes currently hanging on racks of every shop.
I don't store my clothes away by season, and instead opt to have all of my clothes out at all times. And my winter clothes (down jackets, corduroys, wool sweaters, scarves, etc.) are looking so sad and unloved these days. I am trying to rock my winter weight clothes despite the 50-60 degree temps so they can get the love they deserve!
skirt & blazer (old): J.Crew
blouse: boutique {similar}
heels: Nine West
This velvet blazer is one of my favorites - the cut, the color, the soft velvet fabric are all perfection. I figure the bare legs + Winter weight velvet blazer convey the exact confusion the weather has left me in!

What kind of weather woes are you dealing with?
Rocking Winter weight fabrics despite Spring temps?

P.S. I am trying to teach myself Photoshop... the above pictures are my experiments with "layers" and adjustments... I think I have some more Googling to do before I figure this magic software out!

  3. Love the velvet blazer. The color is beautiful! I am in 'Bama, so  I am experiencing the same mild weatehr as you; however, as of today (Saturday) I think our luck has changed!

  5. Rachael, I have loved finding your blog via the IT list too! Thank you so much - I am new to this and still learning SO much. Thank you for the advice - I think I have changed my camera settings for every photo session since I got it... finding what works and what doesn't! Photoshop is so daunting... but googling, and friends like you definitely help!

  6. Hi darlin! Fellow IT lister here! Scanning your posts and I think you're too cute!! I see you're playing with photoshop, my best advice, if you have a DSLR --- google shooting in RAW mode. Google it first before you try it though. Only photoshop can convert the images to jpegs. But you'll have the ability to tweak white balances and shadows much better.
    Have a good day my dear!

  7. So classy and "pulled together"!  Makes me wonder why anyone wouldn't want to dress up and feel good as opposed to the running shoes/sweats that aren't actually any easier to put on.  Thanks for always (and all ways) being my inspiration:)

  9. Very cute outfit! I love the color of the blazer... here in NE it has been warm but that is all relative... :) I wore a skrit today as well because it suppose to be only 47 degrees! Crazy stuff I tell you.

  11. Thanks! I think I am about to have to pay for cursing the Groundhog, as the weather man just told me it was going to be in the 20s the next couple of nights! eep!

  12. What a cute outfit for the office! I also keep the majority of my wardrobe out at the same time even though here in Jersey we get all 4 seasons. The weather has been really crazy here. Last week it was 60 degrees and last night it snowed! I am ready for spring though.
