not your granny's hosiery

{ What I Wore to a wedding: J.Crew dress // H&M clutch // Antonio Melani heels (pays to go shopping with your mom!) // hosiery ℅ Hanes }

all photos | Zipporah Photography
This is my go-to wedding dress. I actually got it Senior year to wear to a college formal, but it continues to find it's way to a wedding at least once a season. Fun polka dot print, forgiving shape for wedding buffet over-indugences & pockets… what's not to love!
Alas, it is time for events that call for pretty dresses - graduations, Mother's Day celebrations, weddings, etc… but after not seeing the sun for many months, my legs aren't quite spotlight ready!

I've got to say, I was unsure when Hanes approached me about reviewing their new ultra sheer "Silk Reflections" sunkissed line of hosiery… I mean, my grandmother wears hose, but I only wear them for warmth October - January.

But after trying my shade (Nude Bronze) & finding it to be a perfect match - my skin + a hint of sun kissed bronze - my legs are ready to shine! The ultra sheer material is super comfortable, & so far, I am finding it relatively snag-resistant. I can't be the only one that snags new tights/hose in the first 5 minutes of wear… the universe hates me!
So, take another look at hose! Hanes Hosiery has tights to complete all your looks for wedding season & beyond, from silky, run-resistant sheers and patterned tights to Sunkissed tights with a bronze glow! And right now, Hanes Hosiery is hosting a Save the Date Sanity Facebook sweepstakes. It is a fun, easy way for you to win free tights & cash prizes!

The sweepstakes ends April 25 so hurry on over to enter to win the grand prize: $1,000 & a sampling of tights valued at over $250. Also, daily winners will be selected each day through Friday to receive a sampling of tights valued at over $50. Anyone 18+ in the U.S. can enter once a day for a chance to win the daily giveaway and the grand prize!

So, would you wear hose? How do you get your legs ready for wedding season?

Day 26: country air

So maybe my 30X30 should be called "how to wear one article of clothing like another".
First it was wearing a pencil skirt like a mini, then a dress as a skirt, & today a scarf like a vest
{ What I Wore: H&M sweater & purse // Tolani scarf // boutique dress // Steve Madden boots // Guise sunnies }
{ Get the Look }
comfy chic sweater {$4.95} + cozy scarf {$44.95, perfect for making into a vest} + black jersey dress {$29.80} + tall suede boots {$69.95} + classic cat eye sunnies {$16.99}
I love going home, and I think it is funny/interesting seeing a different side of my life.
Things that are totally normal in Nashville aren’t always the same at my family home in Arkansas (and vice versa). Not sure I am making sense, so here are some examples:
{1.} Ever since the sun started setting at 4 pm, I have been taking my outfit photos on Saturdays and Sundays – changing outfits 5 times and running outside with my tripod just seemed CA-razy at home, pretty sure my family though so too
{2.} In Nashville I typically enjoy 7 hours of blissful uninterrupted sleep, but at home I had the pleasure of sharing a room with my sister and her 2 eight-month old baby girls who do not understand the joys of sleeping through the night yet (hello 3 am screaming)
{3.} In Nashville Doug is my child, the only baby I interact with, and I spoil him accordingly. At home there are actual babies and somehow rubbing their ears doesn’t have the same calming effect that it has on Doug.
{4.} At home there are a few bars, but magically everyone from high school shows up at the same one on the same night. This year was no different, but the ridiculous shenanigans were better than ever

Do you live far from your childhood home? Notice any differences from you day-to-day life to you life at home? Don't leave me hanging, I can't be the only one!

wedded bliss

Oh weddings... not sure if it is the love in the air, or the open bar, but weddings are my new favorite thing. It is so amazing to see my friends grow up and meet the person of their dreams, and then get to celebrate in their major milestone. 2 more weddings this season... bring it on! I'll better start practicing my Wobble!
{ What I Wore: H&M dress & clutch // Nine West Wedges (similar) // J.Crew belt (similar) }

Ty's friend from college married the sweetest girl at a beautiful chapel on Vanderbilt followed by a reception at the historic Union Station here in Nashville. Neither the couple not the night could be more perfect. Cheers to their beautiful union and a happy life together.
Getting dressed up to cut a rug at the reception!
How's your wedding season shaping up?
Are ALL of your friends getting married this year like mine?!

to the max

Hey hey... it's Jessica here, late on the trend and kicking myself... again.
Maxi skirts... best thing ever... why am I just figuring this out!?

When I received my summer reward card from J.Crew, I knew that I wanted to try something new, and this swath of fabric caught my eye immediately. Despite being floor length, I find this style of skirt to be flattering, camouflaging and helps to keep the heat out and cool in. Being "petite" isn't even going to stop me from rocking this look all summer long... I'll just keep pretending I am 5'8"... same old same old
{ What I wore: J.Crew maxi skirt // Steve Maden bow flats (love these) // H&M clutch & tank (similar) }
Gotta get a shot of the cute flats, but I can't wait to wear my new love with heels too!
Have you jumped into the maxi skirt trend yet?
How do you wear yours? I am still experimenting and would love some more ideas!
