Bloggers Who Budget x Lulu's

skirt: ℅ Lulu's

Shoes: Steve Madden

Regardless of the price point, I always want to feel like I'm getting a good value for my money (whether it is a car or a new $5 nail polish). That is why I LOVE Lulu's - their prices are super fair, and I always know that I'm getting a great piece, for a great price, that I will be able to wear many different ways.

This skirt is such a fun new addition to my teacher style wardrobe (no I didn't wear these heels to teach - stay tuned for an outfit featuring this skirt + flats next week).

I was really into keeping the look simple with black & white, adding just a touch of leopard (because we all know that leopard IS a neutral!).

Oh this skirt! The fit is perfect, the fabric is just the right weight, and the longer length makes me feel so chic! I am already thinking ahead to New Year's & am almost 100% decided that this sequin skirt from Lulu's needs to come home with me - what a stunner!

If you too like a great piece for an awesome price, check out how all of the Bloggers Who Budget (linked up above) are rocking new Lulu's items for Fall for this month's collaboration!

Bloggers Who Budget: Denim

Well, I'm BACK! The wedding was beyond everything we imagined & more. The honeymoon was seriously dreamy. And we have greatly enjoyed our first few weeks as Mr. & Mrs. off the grid. Thank you for all your sweet words during this special time!

As I said on Instagram, I will be waiting to share all of the wedding goodness unit the first week in June. That way I can share it all in one big "wedding week" scoop… so if weddings aren't your thing, you can skip that week, but if you want to see all the nitty gritty details, stay tuned! (Sneak some peeks in the mean time through our official hashtag on Instagram/Twitter #McMarriage2014)

I am also sitting on some really fun collaborations that I can't wait to share with you - this Summer is going to be FUN!

Today I am getting back into my blogging groove with the lovely Bloggers Who Budget - sharing our Summer denim styles under $75. These cut off Levi's were clutch while enjoying the beaches of Antigua, & I also loved dressing them up a bit for our most recent Nashville Style Collective meeting. How do you rock your denim during the Summer months?
Check out how these budgeting babes style their skinny jeans, white denim, chambray, vests, & denim dresses for warmer months ahead:
{ What I Wore to a Nashville Style Collective meeting: Urban Outfitters blazer // tee ℅ Style Lately // shorts ℅ Levi's // DSW booties // Macy's tassel neklace // Michael Kors watch // Ray Ban sunglasses }

FIT TIP: order these shorts 2 sizes up for the "boyfriend" relaxed fit (I am usually a 26 & am wearing a size 28 in these shorts)
P.S. Be sure to meet this month's Blogger in the Spotlight & enter her $50 J.Crew gift card giveaway!

P.P.S See how I wore this tee for running errands, & these shorts for a weekend concert (trying to do more "remixing" on the blog in the coming days!)

Floor Outfits

{ What I Wore: Urban Outfitters blazer // J.Crew Factory tank // Citizens of Humanity jeans // bag c/o Yes Walker // Nine West Pumps }
{Get the Look}
blazer {$59} + tank {$49.50} + flare jeans {$27.99} + bag {$28} + pumps {$29.99}
Sometimes the outfits that I get so much credit for here on the internets, are totally stolen... from the floor
When I get home from work I take the time to place my clothes neatly in the closet in a wad on the floor.
So when I am running low on inspiration/time, I let the floor piles speak to me.
Sometimes Monday's shirt is crinkled up next to Wednesday's skirt & that becomes Saturday's outfit... really the best method.
In this case, Friday's science conference ensemble got deconstructed into Sunday's errand running look...
When you've got good wardrobe bones in your closet (& wads on your floor) getting dressed & remixing can be a breeze!
{ What I Wore: Target hat + wedges // necklace c/o Hello Fab // crossbody bag c/o Yes Walker }
{Get the Look}
hat {$14.99} + racerback tank {$49.50} + trouser jeans {$74.99} + bag {$28} + wedges {$24.99} + necklace {$23.99}
This hat covered my hair from the rain that is ruining my life, while the purse made it look like I had it all together!

Have you ever gotten dressed off the floor?
What has been your latest floor inspiration?

back to black

Day 28 of my 30X30 Remix Challenge
{ Urban Outfitters Blazer / Jessica Simpson Heels / J.Crew Bubble Skirt / BaubleBar Necklace / Boutique Lace Tank }
I have fallen into a pattern where my go-to accent color is black. In fact when I was younger I told my parents that I wouldn't be wearing brown any more so that I could focus on my black accessories only... obviously a diva since birth! haha
But having black everything (necklace, shoes, jacket, belt) is an easy way to toughen up a girl skirt and tank!
What is your "go-to"?

quick fix

So close to completing my 30X30 Remix Challenge... less than a week to go!
Today is an exercise in how to get ready in 20 minutes!
Tuesday morning I woke up, jumped in the shower, threw my hair into a wet bun, then collected some clothing from my floor (clutch from the night before, jeans from this weekend) and grabbed the rest from my 30X30 section of my closet... applied my minimal make-up (concealer + bronzer + mascara), and ran out the door! Put together in a minute, and I look actually put together. It's a miracle!
{ Urban Outfitters Blazer / J.Crew Blouse / Genetic Denim Skinny Jeans / Hobo Clutch {affordable option} / Nine West Pumps }
How do you hurry your routine on days in which you are running late?
Give me some tips! I am the queen of snooze!

glitter is a girl's best friend

I love selling my clothes to consignment stores, and while I am there I usually pick up one or two things as well – it is like clothes recycling (...maybe that is my self justification...)! I got this pair of multi-colored glitter heels on my last trip to the consignment store, and I’m in love with them! I made this outfit around my new heels, and my etsy.com (spikethepunch store) necklace for a Saturday night out with friends to the Flying Saucer
Blazer- Urban Outfitters; Top- Rachel Pally; Jeans- Genetic Denim; Heels- Candies (Plato's Closet); Necklace- Etsy (orange) & Local Boutique (long silver)
