Sorry for not posting yesterday - as you might have seen on Twitter, I just didn't feel like coming out from under the covers & serving up my bubble gum happy fashion post in light of the horrific events in Boston. When life gets me down or my energy levels plummet after weeks of trying to keep up with a puppy, it is my tendency to crawl into bed & not want to come out. However, that just gets me into a viscous cycle of dark & stormy thoughts - worrying, stressing about things SO very out of my control, getting anxious about the big bad world that looms outside my door. As simple as it sounds - getting up, fixing my hair, putting on a cute top & going about my productive day is what puts me at ease. Look good, feel good, do good. It's not a lot, but it is what I can do & I have to start with what I have. |
{ What I Wore: Wallis blouse // ModCloth mint jeans // Steve Madden nude pumps } |
This is my first kimono top & I am officially adding it to the list of simple things that make me happy.

Ooo I love that kimono top on you and that last photo is gorgeous. Lots of simple things make me happy - like enjoying this cup of coffee right now with a purring cat on my lap :) Hope you have a great, happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous in this top, it's so pretty. It actually is the simple things that make me the happiest... a really delish iced coffee, eating dinner on the couch, watching my fave tv shows, playing with my niece, my husband making me laugh... the list goes on!

It's so true that when we force ourselves to get dressed, it does something to our mood. I've been in a really gloomy mood too, so I can completely understand where you're coming from. I got into bed at 8:30 last night - 8:30! I didn't go to sleep right away but still... Anyway, your outfit is cheery and I hope it helped cheer you up!
ReplyDeletei felt the same way. i had blog posts queued up for yesterday and i was like, how can i post about shopping when 3 people just died less than a mile from my apartment? it's so surreal. i've let my queued posts start up again today, but it still feels a bit weird. i love your mint jeans with the nude heels here...it's spring at last!

ReplyDeleteDays like Monday are easier when you're a cynic like me. Something terrible happens and I'm like, "Yep. People suck." But on the other hand I'm kind of a party pooper all the time. So maybe you're better off in the long run being a cheerful person like yourself :) Anywho, I am not all cynical about this kimono top because it's adorable. So I'm improving.

This is such a good outfit to lift your mood! The floral pattern in the blouse is awesome and pastels always seem to both mellow me out and cheer me up, which is a great combination if you aren't having a great day. I'd love to have you link up tomorrow with this outfit for my Spring Florals link-up!
