Game Night

Ty & I have this set of friends that have a dog, a big yard & a killer spaghetti recipe.
We get together every couple of weeks for game night.
We bring the pugs & the beer, they pick the game & serve up dinner.
The perfect end-of-the-weekend pick-me up!

We all shop at Kroger to save time & money to fund our game nights.
We build our shopping lists using the Kroger mobile app, make the most of their killer promotions & stock up on gas savings using their 2X fuel point coupon.
This is your last week to take advantage of their buy 5, save $25 deal... grocery shopping anyone?!

The secret to killer spaghetti?
A little spice with home grown jalapeƱos & the thick & zesty flavor pack we pick up at Kroger.
Paired with made-from-sratch meatballs & you have the dish that keeps my man coming back for 4ths!

What is your trick to a successful game night?

  7. That picture of Doug the Pug (I think it's Doug...I can't tell them apart sometimes!) is downright majestic. Also, how is that agave nectar Blue Moon? I always eye it and never buy because I'm not sure how it would taste!

  8. My friends and I get into arguments all the time when we play Settlers. I play my cards very close to the vest and refuse to trade with anyone once they've got a certain number of points, and they hate that, but that's just the way I play! In turn, I get to hate how they hoard their soldier development cards and use them in consecutive turns :).

  9. I love game night, and Settlers, and Lagunitas! We have a few friends we do this with as well, I'm so glad to have my own place now so I can have them come over and take my turn doing the hosting. We usually do wine and cheese (or beer and cheese) instead of dinner, and the host gets to pick the Pandora station for background music too.

  11. That sounds like a blast! My brother just bought Settlers over Christmas (perfect for snowdays with no power!) and my whole family is hooked. He joked when he was first teaching us how to play that every game will have at least one fight and anyone else you meet that plays it will be your instant best friend. I'd have to agree with both! (Reason #2873 why I love your blog!)

  13. haha! We love the game, but I agree! Everyone has their own strategy, & we have this one friend that just always try to mess everyone else up, he has no goal of actually winning! #jerk!

  19. I love a good game night! My secret sauce ingredient is carrots and zucchini, shredded so thin you can barely taste them. It makes all the difference!
