So there is a little "situation" with my current rental... bad news - I am going to have to move soon. But good news - I am going to get to decorate a new place (once I find the perfect place to live within my graduate student budget). I am trying to focus on the "good news" and think about how I want to decorate my next place. I have pretty much been toting around my family's furniture hand-me-downs since college, so I am looking forward to "exfoliating" the cheap collage stuff and replace it with things I love... I figure that slowly, and surely I can purchase investment pieces that are of my "adult" style and will be with me for a while...
One of the things I am obsessed about recently is bar carts... I even have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to the topic... I enjoy a glass of wine after work, and love weekend cocktails with my girlfriends. I am currently in possession of a cart that can easily be repurposed to suit my dreams... I just need a new place in which to let it shine!
I am currently drooling over this bar cart montage that The Pink and Blue blog posted:

Are you a renter? Have you made the place your own? Or settled for dreaming of the days when you can decorate a house with out abandon?
For now, I think a bar cart will make my next rental feel more chic and "grown up", maybe I have been watching too much Mad Men!

I'm not a drinker, but those bar carts are so pretty! Cute blog!

Best of luck with figuring out your moving situation! Bar carts are so fabulous - one girl I know uses hers as a mini prep station, when she doesn't have guests over :)

I'm definitely going to be needing one of these when I get a place of my own.

i adore bar carts... they are so chic and versatile! new follower :) love the blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that in my next place I will try out removable wall paper. It took me so long to figure out what I wanted to do in my current place, that once I had a plan it wasn't worth doing for the small amount of time we had left. Day dreaming is satisfying me for now!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have been apartment dwellers since we got married (and for many more years now, since we can't exactly afford a house in L.A. right away!) and it's definitely harder to make it feel like your own. I always paint the walls (sometimes even if it's not exactly allowed, then I paint them back haha). Paint always makes it feel like home to me :)
Happy weekend!
