trends that make you go hmm... feathers

{via here, here, here}
Lately, feathers have been ruffling some of my favorite bloggers, appearing on runways, and are all over stores. This luxe material definitely makes quite a statement...
but I have not yet decided if I will be adding any to my closet yet....

Pluck up some feathers to give flight to your going-out duds, or get crafty and make your own!

Are feathers a trend that you are going to flock towards for Fall?

  2. Okay, I love a really beautiful, soft feathered skirt, I think they can look so romantic, but I don't think Ill be buying one anytime soon. (Hard to take care of and it's so easy to find really cheap looking ones.)  I do like this idea of the feathered leather skirt you did on the diy, that looks easy and it looks cool to boot!

  4. I think it depends how crazy they are and how you style/wear it! I would definitely do subtle feathers on a skirt... but I’m not daring enough to go all out!

  5. I  think the feathers can look so chic and sophisticated! I love your DIY idea, it came out really cute and that way you don't need to spend a lot in case this trend doesn't last.

  10. I'm liking the feathers trend but I'm not sure I could pull it off in any of my everyday outfits. A full on feather skirt may be a bit OTT for going to uni in! But I am looking out for some feather earrings as a way to incorporate the trend :)

  14. I like this series you call "trends that make you go hmmm"!  I haven't seen the feather trend except for the earrings (which were everywhere for a while there...)  Can feathers make you sneeze?  And would PETA approve this trend??  hmmm.

  15. haha thanks! There have been so many trends that I am SO against, and then come around to and eventually LOVE (fur vests, jeggings, cap toe shoes just to name a few)... so I like to get the opinions of others - good or bad :) And PETA probably wouldn't approve...

  17. The feathers are definitely cool, but I don't think they go with my life at all- I'd be worried about them every time I sat down!

  20. I'm such a huge fan of feather skirts. I actually had to cut back on wearing them too much. lol. such great statement pieces. Love this post, hun. If you get a sec, I'd love if you'd check out my interview with the stylist behind ABC Family's hit shows. xo

  21. I'm not opposed to the trend, but I don't think it would work on me. I don't feel like anything I do in life would be feather-appropriate. I'm not gonna run to buy cat litter wearing a feathered mini :D

  22. bahahaha! You would make buying kitty litter SO cute :)

  23. You could definitely rock the feathers,  I just won't be doing this any time soon! (psst: some things are just better for the young ans sassy)

  24. I kinda love the feather skirts but I can't think of a single place I would wear one!

  25. I would actually love to try this out! It is SUPER luxe, and I'm sure it's gonna become a lot more popular (like leather). I think I would try it out on something small, like a skirt trim, or clutch, but let's be honest, I would rock a feather dress, because you're only young once! I guess it wouldn't be all too hard to DIY a little feathery something. First I'm gonna run that by my boyfriend and see how much he'd make fun of me for it :D
