5 random things for your Monday reading pleasure:
{1.} A snapshot from last weekend. Running around town in clothes that feel like pajamas is fun, but shiny bedazzles & a pop of pink takes it to a more polished level.
{2.} On a more boring note, the weather around here is cray. On Saturday it was 95 & I got a sunburn. Sunday brought showers & chilly 60s... so the outfits might be a bit of a mixed bag over the next few weeks.
{3.} This skirt = perfection. I touted its perfect status in this post, but it should definitely be shared again. Comfortable waist band that stays put, pockets & a light weight material that is great on its own for warmer days, but just asking to be layered too!
{4.} I tried a curling wand this weekend & it looked like a 5 year old did my hair... well, that might even be insulting to a 5 year old. So, dish: what are you tips to rocking the curling wand. I just want my hair to look like this.
{5.} Don't forget to enter to win $100 from Fringe & Lace!

  1. The curling wand definitely takes practice! The first time I did it, I ended up looking like an electrocuted poodle–not cute. I'd say my biggest tip is always wrap away from your face, start the curl about two inches from your roots, and leave a bit out at the bottom. Also, keep in mind that the tighter you wrap your hair on the barrel of the iron, the more "ringlet" your curls will be. If you want them a bit more like loose waves, definitely make sure you can see a bit of space between each "wrap" on the iron!

  2. I literally cannot live without my curling wand. It just takes practice. I hold mine on for 20 seconds each and then hair spray. After I let it cool a little I then run my fingers through my hair. You can see my hair on my blog

  5. I get my best curls using a hair straightener, honestly! Clamp hair at the top and twist the straightener as you slowly smooth it down.

  10. Thanks for the tip! I will say that my hair is almost too long for the length of the barrel, so I was wrapping it very tightly, with the wraps almost overlapping each other.... I'll have to work on that during my next practice session!

  11. I'm in love with that skirt! I wanted it sooo badly myself but it came out right around when I got pregnant & I knew I wouldn't be able to rock it for very long (I'd just bought 2 other J.Crew skirts that I'd only been able to wear 1-2x before having to put them away). I will just live vicariously through you every time you wear yours :-)

  13. I personally prefer to curl my hair with my straightener, but I've never tried a curling wand before. Maybe there are some good youtube tutorials to help you out? That's where I always go for hair tutorials!

    PS love that sweatshirt!

  20. I used to use my flatiron, but my hair is getting too long for the barrel... I'm this close to just shaving it off! But I suppose I will look better going down the aisle with hair ;)
