{ What I Wore: J.Crew silk tank (exact, for less) & cashmere hoodie (exact, for less, what a steal!) // Citizens of Humanity boyfriend jeans // Birkenstock "Arizona" sandals // Michael Kors watch } |
Admittedly, there have been some trends that I was reluctant to adopt. But having to pull my Birks out from the depths of my closet... you mean the comfiest shoes I own, yea - I can get behind that.
Know what else is back?
I took part earlier this year & am excited about stretching my outfits once again.
Won't you join us!?
P.S. Please take 2 seconds to vote for me here! This frugal grad student is itching for the grand prize gift card for new shoes!!
I love your jeans and that puppy is OMG adorable!

I love the relaxed fit of your jeans here, Jessica! To be honest, I'm not sure I could ever pull off Birks, but you look cute in them!
ReplyDeleteI've been dying for a new pair of Birks! I broke in a fantastic pair and when I thought I was too cool for them, I dropped them off at my local Salvation Army. Now I want them back! Love the way you styled them!

Love your birkenstocks ... i'm afraid it is past birken weather in ol Scotland. I'll have to wait for next spring to make a purchase. You're pug is soooo cute, gorgeous pup!!

P.s. I am hosting a Michael Kors watch giveaway on the blog this week. If you are feeling lucky, check it out:

I'm pretty freakin excited that Birks are back. I've had a pair for 7 years and I rarely wear them except for when I let the dog out. It's too cold to wear mine right now but I'll be pulling them out in spring, for sure!
ReplyDeletesuper cute both you AND your pup!! xxo

normally I would have been like girl, no. but somehow I really like this. I think its the neutral palette. am I going to run out and buy a pair now? probs not, but I'll appreciate it from a far :)
ReplyDeleteso cute and casual - love the cardi
ReplyDeletekw ladies in navy
i love them!! and love those jeans!

I really love this outfit - the silk cami plus cashmere cardi = SO cozy. But I have to say I can't get behind this new (again) sudden craze for Birkenstocks. I hated them in the 90's & I'm seriously in shock that they're back. And call me crazy but I never found them comfortable either. All that said...you rock them Birks girl! Who cares what I (or anyone else thinks)! Just never, ever, ever with socks :-) (Seriously, no sarcasm here)
ReplyDeleteYour doggie is SO cute!! Love your casual look too!

I didn't think I could get behind the Birkenstock trend but you look great Jessica. I could totally imagine wearing this outfit. Thanks for the inspiration pretty girl!

Totally loving this casual, laid back outfit! You look so cute.

Always Maylee
You look beautiful in neutrals!
ReplyDeleteI knew that BUT was coming ;)
ReplyDeleteI have had these Birks since my granola days of college, and they are seriously molded to my foot in the most comfortable way... but I do remember having an awkward breaking in time. That being said, you have my promise to never wear them with socks... unless I move to the Pacific North West one day, & then I might have to... don't hate me :)
And this is Douglas. He is taller and has a more serious face. But yes, they are pug clones!
xx
I hear ya, I had these bad boys lurking the in depths of my closet from my hippie dippy college days, so this was an easy trend for me to embrace. But if I had to go out & drop $100 on a new pair... eh, I think I might skip out too. I really like them for casual looks, still a little baffled about how to dress these up as I have seen in some "off duty" model outfits.
ReplyDeletexx
Man! Wrong again! I seriously can't tell those two apart.
ReplyDeleteAnd like I said - you rock those Birks girl. I guess I could never get myself passed the awkward break in stage. And I MAY be able to forgive the socks if you do move. I could never hate you! ;-)
love this look - berks were totally my style circle 1998. I may just have to scoop up a pair this coming spring (it's about to snow here already)

I almost cried when I saw the price of that hooded sweater, but dang, does it look deliciously comfortable. And I'm not actually allergic to cashmere. What a crying shame.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! He loves stealing the show whenever he can ;)
ReplyDeletexx
Aw, thank you! I think this look was more about comfort than cute, but always better than my sweatpants!
ReplyDeletexx
Oh no, you can't ditch perfectly broken in Birks - what were you thinking!? haha, I bet you could find a new-to-you pair at a vintage store easy enough. Complete the circle.
ReplyDeletexx
This will probably be the last time I can pull mine out too, but I will be sure to know where I put them so they can come back out at the first signs of Spring!
ReplyDeletexx
Yay! Seriously, I love embracing my inner granola side, and they are comfy to boot. Can't beat that!
ReplyDeletexx
Aw, thanks so much! He poses so pretty for the camera ;)
ReplyDeletexx
You are very welcome! I used to have the clog style Birks too... not sure I am ready to re-embrace those ;)
ReplyDeletexx
Thank you so much Yi-chia!
ReplyDeletexx
Thank you dear, I'm loving lighter colors this Fall!
ReplyDeletexx
Oh man, SNOW!? This might be the last time I can wear mine this season, but I am excited about styling them up for Spring :)
ReplyDeletexx
I'm sorry, I love you, but I am NOT on board with this! Then again, you make anything look good. ;-)

Oh yes, the joys of the northeast! :)
ReplyDeleteBirks are super poplar over here in Germany
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing those tanks for literally months, and after seeing this post I think I need them in my life. I also need that wrinkled face in my life, I think your pups and Mace could be best buds.

Oh my goodness, I wish I could have a pug play day with all the pugs & pug mamas I have met on the internets… let's make that happen one day!!
ReplyDeletexx
Girl, you know I love ya (and your blog), but I still say no to the Birks! I was never into them before and I still don't get it. But the rest of your outfit looks great! That neutral beige color is sooo pretty with your skin tone!
ReplyDeleteYou and the puppy are both super-cute...I'd love to see you wearing those beautiful Birks with socks!
ReplyDeleteMy parents have had the same pair of Birks for what seems like my whole life, and NEVER in my life would I have thought they could look this stylish! Nice work!! They look surprisingly very chic with the silk blouse!
ReplyDeleteperfectly priya
Aww I haven't owned sandals like this in years!! Bringing back memories :)
