Ok, so maybe the bubble necklace trend is dead... but I am a staunch believer in the fact that if you really love something, you will wear it, regardless if it is trendy or not
(& I'm not just talking about my favorite pair of sweatpants stolen from le fiancé)
I have been the proud owner of this Bauble Bar statement necklace for going on 2 years & continue to gravitate towards it. I'm a huge necklace loving gal & no matter how much I make myself buy earrings & bracelets, huge a$$ necklaces are the way to my heart.
The moral of this story is: Buy things you love. Invest in closet staples. If a $30 necklace is going to be your most worn item, then by all means your friend Jessica advises you to get 2!

I always talk about how I love "remixing" my closet, but besides my 30X30 challenges, I don't share many re-capped remixes... is this something that you like?

OH NO! Don't tell it's dead! I just bought a few more colors for this spring/summer. Too bad - gonna wear it anyway. I love the rhinestone statement necklace trend to look at but can't seem to find one I want to wear. Feel overdone and trying to hard when I see them on me. The bubble necklace still feels right. I did find some in different sizes and that is fun too. The mini bubble necklace is adorable on lace.
ReplyDeleteI understand why you say the trend is dead, but I wouldn't say it's completely gone. I've never even owned a bauble necklace! I completely agree with you - if you love it, wear it anyways. That way you always love what you're wearing, and you don't have to worry about being "trendy" all the time. If you love it, others will love it. Great to see that you got so much wear out of the necklace!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing people being creative with their wardrobe and wearing the same pieces in fresh, different ways. I'd definitely love to see more remixes! As for bubble necklaces, that was never a trend that I embraced but honestly you rock that necklace! Keep on keepin on
ReplyDeleteI agree! when ppl say the tend is out I get a little annoyed because I had the j.crew necklace before the trend exploded and i still love it, and now people are telling me that was so yesterday. I think if you love it wear it -- and who cares! xo

I think if you love something, you should wear it as much as you want–who cared! This one is clearly adorable on you...I love the teal color!
ReplyDeleteyou look so fab in this, though! :) i really like the style this necklace is in. not the same as that one bubble necklace that was being given away left and right

I agree with you 100% Never follow trends, follow your heart! I can see why you love this necklace - the color and style is perfection!

I completely agree with you - WEAR IT! I actually wear a lot of "dead" trends that I don't necessarily blog about much anymore - fashion moves a little slower 'round these parts and when I wear my bubble necklace out people approach me all the time to ask about it. And I still see it getting pinned all over the place. So I say rock it - on and off the blog! That is a gorgeous necklace, too!
ReplyDeleteI think it's still trendy and you rock wearing it!
ReplyDeleteStop by whenever you like and share some love!

I re-wear jewelry a lot, even stuff from high school! It just shows how fashionable you are to make it work in so many different ways
ReplyDeleteTotally agree....staples are worthwhile investments! And this one is awesome!

I ADORE re-mix posts. Along with closet inventories, they're my favorite kind of blog posts. They're so relatable - most of us women don't just wear an article of clothing once and then replenish our closets with new things. I also think that many of us like to have pieces that are versatile enough to wear multiple ways. I am constantly finding myself inspired by bloggers who showcase different ways to wear the items in their closet. Keep 'em coming, Jessica!!!

Thank you for sharing a five ways for the bubble necklace. If you think you're PAST the trend, I have yet to even own one! Could never decide on a color... Love all the ways you used the necklace, you definitely know how to get mileage out of it! :)

I just love that necklace! I am thinking of buying one as well, even though the 'trend' is dead :)

I wear my bubble necklace and still get compliments! It definitely isn't the "current trend" anymore, but if it matches and I feel good in it I'm going for it!

long live the bauble! I'm stick rocking 'em and plan to for a while! They are such delicious eye candy, I can't resist!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at bauble! Love the outfits!
ReplyDeletei love chunky statement necklaces, too, and this one is great! i say keep wearing it! i actually kind of like this one you're wearing more than the j crew bubble necklaces, i haven't seen as many people wear a similar one.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge believer in the statement necklace too! I occasionally rock earrings, but necklaces are my thing.

I'm not done with my bubble necklaces yet, truth be told!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have a mini version of this that I got from some random website haha but I like your big one better! I need to wear my mini version more anyway! Love your remixes! Looks especially fabulous against your striped dress!

I really like these posts - would love to see more! I totally agree about just wearing something if you love it. I know the peplum trend is totally on the way out, but I love how they look on me so I'm hanging onto mine! :)

I LOVE remix posts! I know we can search your archives & all but it just makes it so much easier when you compile it all prettily like that for us :-) And I'm totally on the same page as far as wearing something because you like it even if it's not on trend. I've never been a girl who jumps on trends right away anyway so I'm usually jumping on a trend right as it's going out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for the trend to be over! I'll stick it out with you! - J
