Happy 1st day of Spring!
Getting the most out of my Winter clothes now before Spring really hits her stride!
I have had these pants since high school (& will be sparing you the embarassing college pictures of me wearing them)... but once upon a time they were cropped & flared legs (um, yeaaaaa).
After a trip to the tailors, these babies came back nice & tapered.
I swear a saw a similar pair to these selling at J.Crew for way too much.
I can't believe I scored these for a sweet deal over 8 years ago & a simple trip to the tailors brought them into the modern era.
What piece have you revived at the tailor's lately?
Any plans for the 1st day of Spring??
wonderful outfit :)

Obviously these pants were a great purchase if you've been able to wear them for so long. I think they're great and would have assumed you bought them last week! Love them paired with the black sweater!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I need to go through my wardrobe and revive a few things!

You look gorgeous Jess! I love the fact that you had these pants since high school and gave them a little makeover to make them trendy again. SO cute. And can I just say, your hair is looking extra fab today. :)

That's awesome - they are perfecty on trend and look great on you. :) I recently took a pair of too-big, too-short pinstriped pants and turned them into cropped skinnies (I did it myself). Was feeling very domestic that day.
ReplyDeleteOh, these pants are SO pretty. They're perfect for work!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pants! My plans for today is to shovel our driveway after work from the big snow storm we had yesterday #springfail
ReplyDeleteThe print on those pants is SO pretty! I love that you've had them since HS and made them modern with some tailoring.

These pants are so fun- your hair looks extra pretty here!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea to do with outdated pants! I've had dress hem lengths changed before, which is handy too. And I love this mix of springy print with sweater - definitely a must around here as winter clothes are killing me, but it's way to cold to do spring ones all the way!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! I need to get a pair of trouser jeans taken in because they are too "bell-bottom-y"
ReplyDeleteWow, what a way to update these lovely pants! The cropped and flared thing was totally in a few years ago. I remember. Good call giving them this chic Mad Men-like makeover!

Wow, tailoring was the perfect trip! This look great and current. I've been meaning to tell you congrats too! How exciting! Because of our server/blocks, discus doesn't work when I'm at school, unethically looking at blogs... So, congrats!

you look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I would have never believed those pants had an alternate life! I LOVE them now! And the only thing I've ever taken to a tailor is a pair of jeans that had a rip and they fixed that. I really should get more clothes tailored to fit me.

That is awesome! I would have never guessed they were from so long ago, because they DO look like something J.Crew would have right now. YOU ARE AHEAD OF THE TRENDS ;)

They look lovely. Sometimes all you need is a little tailoring to change up your closet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Those pants are awesome. Note to self: visit the tailor more often. (PS - found you via Real Girl Glam, so glad I did. Your blog is adorable!) -Madeline
ReplyDeleteYour hair is looking especially fabulous! I love it when I have super old items that are still relevant, sometimes they just need a little tweaking :)
