Ok, finally a month where I picked out a few closet basics, purchased them, then actually put my wallet away without having any FOMO - growth, my friends!
So what did my budget get me this month?
1 Nisolo leather tote $133.00
(have you not heard of this brand yet?? Educate yourself here... they rock!)
1 pair Madewell leopard skimmers $93.00
(initially ordered the wrong size & the right size is on backorder until June... sad face!)
1 pair Old Navy Rockstar skinny jeans (in black) $19.50
(my favorite jeans at the moment... I want this cut in every color. BUY ALL THE COLORS!)

P.S. since Ty & I got engaged, all everyone keeps telling us is how stressful wedding planning can be. Apparently throwing a big party to celebrate your love does have a price & it can be spendy. With that being said, I am going to try to be more thrifty with my clothing budget & wedding related items might sneak into my clothing allowance - this is real life folks!

I love that tote, it's so versatile! You know what, when I got engaged everyone said the same thing. But I didn't find wedding planning to be stressful at all. I actually had FUN, if you can believe it. I gave myself plenty of time and even DIYed a bunch and in the end it was perfect. So I hope you enjoy the whole process too! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of all y'all who can wear the Old Navy Rockstar jeans! They have the BEST COLORS and the price couldn't be better. They just don't fit me well at ALL, and I'm super, super sad about it. I'll admire from afar :)

I never though of doing it that way. I had just evaluated what I had been spending and tried to skim off the top a bit. I've streamlined down even more for transitional seasons. It really helps!

You did really great this month - true closet staples that you will wear for years and years. You showed great restraint and it'll all pay off. This whole "full years budget" thing makes a lot of sense but I feel it would drive me to just spend spend spend and then have it be August and be like...whoops!
