trends that make you go hmm: matched separates

Well, it's been a hot minute since I did one of my "trends that make you go hmm…" series posts. Today I'm bringing it back, starting with a trend that I have already embraced - matched separates (I love that TopShop calls them co-ords, so British!)

Here are my favorite bloggers rocking the trend. I really enjoy that it can be a low risk way to also try out the crop top look too. And matched separates come in all silhouettes - mini skirts & midi skirt, pants, & even patterned suits.

So, is this a trend that you will try? Or one that you will pass?
I found so many fabulous examples, I just had to share them. Get your shop on girl:

  3. I am a huge fan of ONE SUIT style. I like the suits with vertical lines, they tend to visually make me look taller and very chic. Zhanna, www.stylehenge.com

  4. I also find that this trend is somewhat madening, however it would be a nice suit to have to wear together or mix up separately!

  5. I haven't actually tried it but I think I would! I mean when you think about it, it's basically like wearing a dress, but you can split the dress in half which multiplies the remixing options.

  10. I really love matching separates, even though I am really not a matchy match kind of girl. Something about it is really fun, plus you can do them together or separate and have so many options! Love all of these looks. I hope to get a matching set this spring.

  14. I am sooo not a fan of this trend reappearing. I think matching separates were best left in the early 2000's. I can only hack it when they look like one cohesive piece and no one can tell they're two pieces.

  15. I really like this trend, although am yet to find a pair of matching separates that I like, although I'm sure this won't last long! I like the fact that they're versatile and you can wear them together or mix and match with your wardrobe.

  17. I am fan for others but not for myself....I don't think...it's a great street style/blog look, but not sure I would really wear something like this in my daily life...but never say never! :)
