Time for another wardrobe staples post!
This time, the highlight is on a piece that is very near and dear to my heart: the ballet flat
Despite the fact that I am vertically challenged (AKA short), and could probably use the boost a pair of pumps provides, ballet flats are the shoe I wear more than any other.
Not only are they a classic year-round, with anything from skirts to pants and everything in between, but just wearing them makes me feel a little closer to my classics style icon, Miss Audrey Hepburn.
Again, I will defer to some of my favorite bloggers to make my point:

Veronika from Girl&Closet looks chic in ballet flats with tights
Darby from Obviously Obsessed proves that ballet flats are stunning with skirts
Crystalin of ITCWC pulls off the can-be-challenging ballet flats + maxi dress with grace
Are you a ballet flats girl?
While I think that a pair of black or nude flats is timeless and chic, there are many other options available now: studded, glittered, leopard, and even in fun fabrics like velvet.

ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on this–ballet flats are a HUGE part of my wardrobe. The one downside I find is now that I live in NYC and walk a ton, they don't LAST. I swear, I've gone through three pairs of black flats in a few months!

That is a sad story! I think I have protective callouses in all the areas that my beloved flats might rub... not the prettiest feet, but they rarely ever get blisters! ha
